Sandy Berger, head of the super-spy National Security Agency under Clinton told Wolf Blitzer and Charlie Rose that the (Bush) FBI and CIA had dropped the ball, but immediately said that we musn't play the blame game. Asked how long the Attack on America had probably been in the planning stage, Berger estimated that attack planning had taken probably several weeks or perhaps 2 months (completely within the term of the Bush White House and Bush Agency appointees).
Today the London Daily Times quotes FBI sources as putting Attack on America planning taking place over a 5 year span.

I've seen Berger in several interviews. He's despicable.
I also get the feeling he's covering something up. Interestingly enough, I made a comment about this a few days ago on FR--but don't ask me to find it at this point in time.

Good thing Berger isn't in his position any longer. He obviously has an inability to estimate such things. Poor incompetent boob or unAmerican scum? U decide.

Attack on America planning taking place over a 5 year spanHmmmm....8 years of Clinton, and 9 months of Bush.
Who's to blame, now?
To: Diogenez, independentmind & A. Morgan
He DIDN'T REALLY have the GALL to say this was cooked up in the past few weeks, DID HE? If so, it's time the RED ARMY puts him on his well-earned pension.

berger is veruy unhappy. he thought he was going to get some great new job after leaving the administration whose foreign policy disasters he himself formulated. but the only offer he got, and the one he had to take, was his current position as strategic pus reserve.
he is good at that job, though.

Isn't this the same Sandy Berger who told Clinton that the aspirin factory in Sudan was definitely manufacturing chemcial weapons? Berger's also the guy who put pressure on the German government to ease off its investigation of the Scientologists, after John Travolta paid he and Bill Clinton a visit.
Berger's almost impossible to listen to in an interview; with all the "uhs" and "you knows," he sounds like an NBA player.

I think these people are trying to undermine the current administration, but rather than give them credibility, it just makes them look like total idiots.

Yes, he did say he estimated that planning had been over several weeks and perhaps two months.

They want to look like idiots - they want people to think they are too dumb to be traitors. Sandy Berger belongs in Prison - he has belonged there for Years. He's not stupid, he's treacherous.

I thought it was Wolf Blintzer.

Asked how long the Attack on America had probably been in the planning stage, Berger estimated that attack planning had taken probably several weeks or perhaps 2 months I guess we no longer have to wonder why Clinton's foreign policy was so horrible, do we?
I myself have heard quotes of up to FIVE YEARS.
