Appalling response to terror making it in Massachusetts (Meehan, et. al.)
Boston Herald ^ | 8-16-01 | Howie Carr

Back in 1972, after we were the only state in the union to vote for George McGovern over Richard Nixon, a famous bumper sticker appeared:

Don't Blame Me, I'm From Massachusetts.

Now we need a new version:

Blame Me, I'm From Massachusetts.

Really, isn't it embarrassing to watch the way so many of the Beautiful People from Massachusetts have conducted themselves since Tuesday?

When exactly did we corner the market on horse's asses?

It's not just the Taliban Twins in the congressional delegation - Osama bin Meehan and Richie ``the Sheik'' Neal.

What about the thousands of marijuana-addled burnouts at yesterday's ``HempFest'' on the Common? Forget the security angle - maybe history will show that we are overreacting, that there was no real and present danger of a biological or nuclear strike from these savages.

But what about some simple common decency? The bodies of most of the victims haven't even been recovered, and these latter-day hippies are partying, getting stoned in public. Have they at long last no sense of shame?

Speaking of no shame, there's the Amherst board of selectmen - excuse me, the Selectboard, as they say in the People's Republic. The night before the sneak attack, they restricted the waving of Old Glory on Main Street utility poles to six days a year.

The vote was 4-1. The lone dissenter wanted to allow the flag to be flown only one day a year.

I say God bless the handful of patriots who liberated the flags Tuesday morning from the box they'd been dumped in at the DPW. Just after the savage attack, a few American citizens put the flags back up on Main Street, in open defiance of Town Hall.

Finally we come to the congressional collaborators, Osama bin Meehan and Richie the Sheik. First Richie. Who knew he could even talk? The last time I remember him speaking was when he called his local newspaper to deny that he had impregnated one of his aides.

As for Maaaaahty, well, he has this habit of developing teenage-girl-like crushes on more powerful alpha males. First it was Paul Sheehy - Marty even visited the solon after he went to prison for bank fraud. Then he attached himself to Bob Kraft, and later Bill Clinton. But . . . Osama bin Laden?

So Marty is quoted as saying that it was ``spin'' and ``PR'' for President Bush to claim Air Force One was a target.

I asked Maaaaahty Friday, was the Capitol evacuated Thursday night because of a bomb scare?

``Yes,'' he said.

Did you evacuate?

``Yes.''

Was that spin and PR?

No answer, obviously, except to say that his statement was ``taken out of context.''

As appalling as Martin T. (for Taliban) Meehan's slur of the commander-in-chief was, what's even sicker is the nostalgia both he and the Sheik seem to feel for Bill Clinton, the war hero.

Apparently Marty's forgotten how his idol handled the last bunch of bloodthirsty terrorists who tried to bring New York to its knees. He pardoned them - to win Puerto Rican votes for his horrible wife. Then, as his administration expired, Clinton pardoned multiple money-launderers for our Mideast foes after one of their buxom wives funneled cash to Clinton's ``library.''

As for Clinton, did you see him Thursday night at the Armory, groping young female survivors, kissing them in a very touchy-feely way, emphasis on feely. Then Friday, at the National Cathedral, he gave Bill Cohen's wife, Janet Langhart, a hug, in a Kathleen Willey-like fashion, feeling her pain and perhaps other parts of her anatomy as well.

Memo to Marty and the Sheik: believe it or not, most of your constituents don't listen to NPR, they don't want to free cop-killer Mumia, and they didn't cheer when the Arabs murdered thousands of their fellow citizens in the greatest hate crime in American history.

God save the commonwealth of Massachusetts.

With apologies to all the patriots and Conservatives that I know must live in Massachusetts.

I'm sorry you live in a state in which the Amherst Campus Left under other circumstances would be cheering on the Islamist Nazis destruction of the World Trade Center Towers, that hated symbol of American capitalism...

In Ohio, we considered our state to be the "heart" of our country; so, I guess that makes Massachusetts the "armpit."

Janet, a onetime Boston TeeVee babe and certified bubblehead didn't exactly have a look of pleasure on her face after his "hug".

I've never paid much attention to Howie* (*I've seen him on PMSBC), however, asking Meathead if he evacuated when the bomb threat was called is priceless.

When Clinton comes on TV, I change the channel. I don't see any of the other former presidents on TV. Nor do I see any of the former Vice Presidents. So, why do I see him? It's time we all changed the channel when he is on.

Guiness should consider a new record: "fastest political suicide". Because Marty Meehan just broke Gary Condit's old record.

Actually, I live in Missouri (the state that elects dead men to the Senate, so we have our own problems). That's why I included an apology, since I wouldn't want to implicate all of Massachusett's residents (Massachusettsians?) for the acts and failures of their politicians. However, I do fervently hope that Marty Meehan is clearly led to see the error(s) of his ways.

I hope you are correct about my congressperson. Howie left out two important details.

1. Dozens of Osama Bin Meehan's constituents were on the two planes.
2. The Great and General Court (the Mass legislature) was going to gerrymander Osama Bin Meehan out of his district beause of his support for the Massachusetts Clean Election Law (Local Shays-Meehan law.)

The gerrymander would have created a "minority" district. Meehan's lowered popularity and stature may bring it back into play.

You can add Jane Garvey to your list of Massachusett's losers. She is one of the few Clinton holdovers - administrator of the FAA. She spent all the money on pacifying the controllers union and worrying about delays, and forgot all about security. I hope Bush fires her on Monday.

The cure for foot-in-mouth disease is foot-in-ass procedure.

The state legislature needs to go forward with its redistricting plan which essentially carves up Meehan's district. Let the Democrats finish him off in a primary.

Both Meehan and Neal were among the first to flee the U.S. Capitol when it was evacuated. They left with other greats from the northeast noted for their bravery: Hillary Clinton and Chuck Schumer (both of whom were missing in action for three full days.) They then have the audacity to claim that President Bush should have returned from Florida to Washington immediately without allowing law enforcement authorities to assess the danger. Neither of these two morons are bright enough to work in McDonalds! It's time for them both to RESIGN.

What really angers me about this "Hempfest" in Boston yesterday is that the major cash crop in Afghanistan is marijuana. Over $150 billion flows into Afghanistan each year from the pot trade so it is quite possible that these pot smokers on Boston Common provided Bin Laden with the funds to launch Tuesday's attacks. What a bunch of stupid people. If we need any more evidence that regular marijuana smoking causes brain damage, this is it.
