Well, what I thought would happen on this thread did. The anti-war protests at Mac have begun. The white ribbons are up (both on trees and on people), the sidewalks have been written on in chalk, (such crap as "We are all one globe."), and we have a unity march for peace or whatever tommorrow at noon (I won't be there).
In addition, I assume the infamous Peace Camp, last seen in response to Kosovo, will be back once Bush takes military action. I really, really hate the Peace Camp. Not only is it tacky for a bunch of people to camp right on the lawn in front of the Campus Center, but they do such infurating things like hanging the flag upside down.

All I have to say is, if they put that damn Peace Camp back up, I'm going to have to start a pro-war demonstration across the sidewalk. I don't know how, but if they put it up, I can't allow it to be there unopposed.
This is war, liberals!

Where is this taking place--what state, I mean? Are there freepers in the area? The best place to organize a protest is right here on FR.

My dear brother and sister FReepers,
At this, of all times in my lifetime, I would like nothing more than to be able to read these threads and reply to them. I have much I would like to say.
BUT, I cannot!
Why?
Because I am trying hard to raise the finances needed to keep FreeRepublic up and running so that we can continue to share valuable information and respond to it.
I beg you, if you have not yet donated to FreeRepublic this quarter, do so now!
If you have already donated, THANK YOU VERY MUCH AND GOD BLESS YOU, please ping your friends, and FReep on...!
I realize you are giving to lots of Relief efforts and I encourage you to do so. But we need to help FR too. Where would we be right now without it?
If you have no money, please come and bump the Fundraiser Thread.
I would really like to reach our goal quickly so that I and the rest of the dedicated FReepers who are working the Fundraiser Threads can participate in what is undeniably the most important time in FreeRepublic's history.

Macalester College is located in the Central Republic of Minnesota. St. Paul to be exact, the campus runs about a couple blocks either side of Grand Avenue west of Snelling Avenue. It was a hot bed of anti-war protest during Vietnam. No big surprise here.

Again, you're not alone. Madison's peace campaign is up and running too. The nation's campuses are sick, sick places. I've done some clandestine chalking with some friends before, and it always makes us feel better. Go for it - get out there late at night, and write away.

St. Paul, MN. And you can bet I will be asking for help if they put that Peace Camp up.
To: basil
St. Paul Minnesota. I went to link to find this out. This should have been provided.

Who cares. These marxists better get used to the fact that there's a real administration running the show.

You go girl! When my travels take me up that way, I may just join you.
As a side note, isn't it bizarre that the same people that have been blathering incessantly for years about celebrating "diversity" are now gathering to celebrate "unity"? They need to make up their minds.....

These peace not war fanatics just don't understand the way things work.

He is coming to Madison...in two months I think. Whether he'll get a chance to speak is another issue. Ward Connerly was here a few years ago, and was shouted down until he agreed to a shortened lecture and extended question time from the hostile audience.

Well, that's why I put that link there, but if you want, I can include its location from now on.

MacAlister College is where Hubert Humphrey taught when he left the Vice Presidency.
Its a "good school", attended by a FEW conservatives, but it must be VERY p.c. & predominantly LEFT-wing.

Minnesota. Vile with liberals, but a lovely place. It's easy to be liberal, remotely.

There are tons of other reliable news sites online where we can get our news if this place ever shut down.Ya know, don't get me wrong, but....why are you here if there are tons of other places?
And who pays for those other places? Oh yes, I remember...corporate interests.
Freedom ain't free...and neither is Free Republic.
You chill.
