Washington (dpa) - Sixty-three countries lost citizens in last week's terrorist attacks on New York and Washington, highlighting what U.S. officials called the global impact of terrorism and the need for international cooperation against it.
The U.S. State Department posted a map on its Internet page Wednesday showing the countries affected and listing the number confirmed dead or missing in the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.
More than 5,000 people are believed to have perished in the September 11 attacks. Hardest hit among nations other than the United States was the Netherlands, with 400 missing and three dead, and Britain, with 100 confirmed dead and 200 to 300 missing.
Germany lost 206 citizens, Colombia 208, and Canada and Switzerland each have 150 unaccounted for.
Some of the countries on the ``front lines'' of U.S. President George W. Bush's new international coalition were also strongly affected. Pakistan lost 200 citizens, India another 250.
No casualties were listed for Saudi Arabia or the United Arab Emirates, countries the alleged hijackers had links to.
The casualty map, which will be updated as the search and recovery effort continues, can be viewed at http://usinfo.state.gov/topical/pol/terror/terrormap.htm.

"No casualties were listed for Saudi Arabia or the United Arab Emirates, countries the alleged hijackers had links to." Yes, but I'm pursuing a theory that it was a conspiracy among dissidents from Iceland, Surinam, Outer Mongolia, and Papua New Guinea.

Yeah but did the Saudi and UAE firms have any offices in there? I know several China-related firms had several offices in there, yet only 4 missing. Could be simply that their offices were on the lower floors. Hard to read anything into all that yet, could be just a numerology thing.
Or maybe Iceland is a conspirator.

That foreign national tally adds up to approximately 3,000 MORE individuals probably killed -- I would imagine that this figure is not part of the NYC missing list.

The World Trade Center was a place where you found people who worked for living.Apt.
But the people whose money is being tended often have someone in attendance, bird-dogging and/or learning the ropes.

According to Farrakhan nearly 1,000 muslims were lost in the towers. I don't know if it is true, but I do know that is what I heard him say.

According to Farrakhan nearly 1,000 muslims were lost in the towers.1) He can't possibly know that. I assume he just pulled that number out of his butt.
2) Including the murderers?

LOL....just passing along what I heard him say. If her heinous can say that chelsea was in harm's way, I guess Farrakhan can lie too.

What are the odds that all those who worked at WTC were at the early morning strip shows that morning?

There were Panamanians among the dead, but no official tally here in Panama. By the time Panamanians are working in the U.S. in high profile jobs, they have become U.S. citizens (actually "dual" since Panama law states that born in Panama always a Panamanian citizen no matter what nationality your parents are/were). Therefore, there is no doubt they have been counted as American lives lost which they were. By the way, many Panamanians have served and are serving in the U.S. military. A more pro-American group you can't find anywhere else.

Yes, I have heard that the true number will be double the 5,000 now mentioned. Pray for them all.

The UAE has a population of 2 million, of whom perhaps 200,000 are citizens. Of these perhaps, with demographics [50 % female and ergo homebound, etc.] and secondary education having been introduced in the 60s or 70s, you're probably looking at perhaps 1,000 people tops with the intellectual capital and English fluency required to work at the WTC. Those with those skills would get much better jobs [more money, less work] in some gov't run corporation at home, guaranteed benefits etc. The scenario for Saudi Arabia is not much different. I do not believe that the Arab community as a whole would ever have stood for such an outrage. One might as well tabulate citizens of Botswana.

"None from Israel"Actually, according to Agence France Presse, Israel counted four victims - two were on board hijacked planes and two worked in the WTC. But in his speech to Congress a week after the attack, Bush said that Israel had lost 130, which was a surprise to me and possibly an error. -- BUT an Arab paper had started the story that Israel was pretending that it had lost 4000 (four thousand!) citizens in the attacks - although no such claim had appeared in the Israeli press; the WTC had, at maximum, 50,000 people employed in all the WTC buildings - it's hard to believe that Israelis accounted for 9% of that workforce (in fact, it's nearly impossible to believe that there were 4000 Israeli citizens in the whole NYC metro area).
But, definitely Israel lost some of its citizens, and the State Dept map of the world (linked earlier on this thread) shows it among the countries who lost people.
