Thousands of patriots, including Patriot1 and myself, gathered at Zephyr Stadium in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana (a suburb of New Orleans) to show support for our great country and our great president. The rally was organized in just three days by Jefferson Parish President Tim Coulon. The rally was called Americas Spirit and was emceed by local TV personalities Eric Paulsen and Sally Ann Roberts. Inspirational music was provided by the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra and the Jefferson Performing Arts Society. Three pics from the rally are shown below.
One of the highlights of the evening came when a local entertainer sang the Lee Greenwood song, God Bless the USA. The entire crowd came to its feet as one and joined in the singing, and all that could be seen was a sea of American flags waving to the beat of the music.
Another highlight was when President George W. Bushs speech to Congress was shown on a large stadium screen. The crowd cheered wildly in support of the President, each time there was a pause in his speech for a response by Congress.
Finally, while the Philharmonic Orchestra played patriotic songs, the Stadium lights were turned off, and the only lights were provided by thousands of candles which had been brought to the stadium by the attendees. The entire evening was such a moving experience that it almost seemed that no one wanted to leave when it was over.
There is no doubt that there is a tremendous patriotic fervor in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, and that we stand solidly behind our Commander-in-Chief.
Great post & photo!
Moreover, Michael Savage said earlier tonight (before the Speech) "Liberalism in America is dead after Sept. 11, 2001."
Bush's MASTERFUL & IMPECCABLE speech was the "verbal coda" of its death knell.
Bush has been called by DESTINY to lead the Nation & the World at this HOUR!
Please let this be true!!!!
Bush was superb tonight. He is a true leader.
Something is happening. We can hope and pray that it is mortally wounded, if not dead.

I wish you could have been there, also. This was such an inspiring event. See you at our FReeper get together!
I agree. Pres. Bush said all of the right things tonight, and I know that he meant every word he said. I am confident that he will lead us to victory.
It is sad that it took such a tragedy to bring us together, but nevertheless, this terrible event has wakened the patriotism that has been dormant in so many Americans for so long. I have great faith in the President of the United States and in America.
There was no sign of liberalism at Zephyr stadium last night--only patriotism and belief in our great President and in our great country.
You are so right, Patrito1. I have never been so moved and inspired in my life.
Thanks for the kind words, Biker1. I too am proud to be an American--and these were the words we sang with such patriotic fervor tonight, to the tune of the Lee Greenwood song.
Thanks for the kind words, ForGod'sSake. I agree that "W" was superb tonight. We needed our Commander-in-Chief to give the speech of his life last night, and Pres. Bush delivered big time.
I am glad that you appreciated the photos, Bogie. Our hearts go out to you Americans in NY, and we are praying for you every day.
