Most distasteful monologue in the history of American television.

On October 1, 1999 Bill Maher performed what was probably the most distasteful monologue in the history of American television. Maher appeared as former President Reagan holding a copy of the Edmund Morris biography "Dutch" in his hands.
"Hello, I'm former President Ronald Coleman . . . . who is this Nancy person anyway?"
And so it went, a three-minute Alzheimer's joke. Afterward, Maher, knowing he would be criticized, justified his crass performance by saying if other comedians could ridicule President Clinton for his affair with Monica Lewinsky, then he (Bill Maher) could mock Ronald Reagan's Alzheimer's Disease.
Anyone with even a shred of common sense knows there's a difference.
President Clinton freely chose to become involved with Ms. Lewinsky. President Reagan, like millions of other people around the world, did not ask for Alzheimer's Disease. There is nothing funny about Alzheimer's Disease, whether it afflicts a liberal Democrat or a conservative Republican, a public figure or a private citizen. Alzheimer's destroys the mind and, ultimately, the life of its victims. The heartbreak suffered by the victim's loved ones is beyond words.
Shame on Bill Maher and shame on ABC and the Walt Disney Company for subjecting the world to his sick brand of humor.
Postscript: The webmaster's dad, a World War II veteran who suffered from Alzheimer's for two years, recently passed away. A memorial page has been created for him at LookAmerica.Com.

Maher's show is pure pornography.
Anyone who can stand to watch it for more than one minute is a degenerate.

we all need to avoid making even "rhetorical threats" about american businesses, based on american soil at this time. The FBI is looking at ANY threats to national security at this time. Internet communications are being scrutinized HEAVILY. Disneyland is not a wise place to make such statements about.
Freerepublic expects us to police ourselves before we hit the post button. After picturing the immolation of americans this last week. Most of us have had enough fire and death on American soil for a while.

Maher has that "deer in the headlights" look. He's lost that "lovin feelin'" so to speak. He is denying what he meant when he said what he meant to say.

I went to your link and broke down. I have never heard of this...and can't even imagine how these people suffer.
Our country is 225 years old, and these countries have been around for at least a thousand years or more, and look how far behind us they are.
I almost feel guilty, after looking at the pictures and reading some of the stories, for living in such a wonderful country as America.

Sean Hannity had Maher as a guest yesterday. Maher defended his comment that he was wishing OJ Simpson killed Katherine Harris as nothing more than an OJ joke. This man is so out of touch as to make one wonder about his mental capacity.
