The new information covers 33 of some 80 foreign nationals currently being detained by the U.S.
It shows they come from 14 mostly Middle Eastern nations, such as Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Syria, Iran and Israel and entered the United States on various kinds of visas and from all sides of the U.S. border. Others are from Algeria, India and Britain.
Names and other identifying details were not included in the documents released yesterday because of privacy restrictions, officials said.
The Immigration and Naturalization Service is holding the individuals under immigration law as investigators seek information from them about the Sept. 11 suicide hijackings.
Experts said Attorney General John Ashcroft is using his vast powers under civil immigration law to hold some people whom investigators suspect in the hijackings but don't have enough evidence to arrest them as criminal suspects or witnesses.
"The purpose, obviously, is to hold them and develop criminal cases," although the cases themselves may well not be brought against the detainees themselves, said Ira Kurzban, author of "Kurzban's Immigration Law Sourcebook."
Some of the detainees were seized shortly before or right after the Sept. 11 attacks. Others appear to have been held much longer including one apparently held since Dec. 26, 1999, when Justice was probing alleged plots to terrorize U.S. millennium celebrations.
Six are Egyptian, another six are from Jordan, four are Pakistani, three are from India and two each are from Saudi Arabia, Syria, Israel and Tunisia. One each came from Iran, Algeria, Britain, Palestine and El Salvador, and one individual is of unknown nationality.
Among the entry points listed, at least 11 of the detainees entered the U.S. through New York, five through cities in Texas and two came from Canada. Others came in through Newark, Miami, Cincinnati, Detroit, Chicago, Washington state and Los Angeles.
Call me extreme, but I don´t think we should be broadcasting who or how many. I think we should extract as much information as possible from them and then kill them. There is absoltely no reason to keep these MFérs alive.
I´m telling you-it´s going to be the guy or guys they let out of custody that will use WMD.
If Ashcroft has such vast powers under civil immigration law, why didn't he start this round-up 10 days before the WTC tragedy? Hmmmm!!
Also ninonitti in post 6 - Who would know better than another illegal on how to get documents?</font color=blue>
We all know that in Mexico you can get anything you want if the right palms are greased.
The animals who murdered Kahane,a Jewish/Israeli nationalist were given a pass by a black jury.(The same types who still bemoan Malcom X getting assasinated by the CIA, while in fact it was a domestic Muslim group associated to Louis Farrakhan/Elijah Muhammad).
Bin-Ladin, the "Blind Sheikh"(he's so ugly he probably went blind from jerking off cause he couldn't get any poontang), have been treated with kid gloves, because of political and judicial system have pandered ethnic communities, who basically are sympathetic to these people.

I'm reposting it if nobody else does.
