Well, like many of you, I wasn't able to buy a flag in my home town. The web stores were all out, and e-Bay... well, can you say gouging? Then I checked Amazon auctions, and found a couple of flags for less than $20. That's a loy better than I found anywhere else, so I figured I'd shaer the knowledge.

I can't find any flags so I bought some T-shirt transfers for my bubble-jet printer and plan to make a patriotic t-shirt.

I can't believe I didn't think of Amazon. DOH!

That's why I posted it. Had I thought about this last week, I'd be flying my flag instead of waiting for it.

I have a full sized flag, but I need some of the little ones that go in your car window and I have seen NONE here in South Florida. Anybody got a source for those? Please send me FREEP mail.

Go to Amazon. They had them from large to small.

M son(17) was recently at a cemetary for a service and subsequently got misdirected within the cemetary and ended up in the refuse area. There he saw a lot of discarded flowers and "hundreds of flags". All in the refuse area. You may recall that labor day was not long ago and many people put flags on burial sites, which the lawn guys then remove a week later. He picked up 50 or so of these flags and has been giving them to anyone who wanted one. Interestingly, most of these flags are not of coton material and therefore do not disentrigrate. Just thought you might want yo know.

Did you know that it is perfectly proper to fly any historic US flag? That's right. You can fly a replica of the Betsy Ross Flag or the flag that was planted on Mt. Surubachi or the 1812 flag. And guess what? They are for sale at flag websites on the net. No shortage. Yesterday, I drove by a house that sported a "Don't Tread On Me" flag.

...but I need some of the little ones that go in your car window...PRINT your own. Several sizes in pdf format; the blue behind the star field is a little light, but very sharp nonetheless.
