[Terrorist] Taliban leader urges Americans to think for selves

ISLAMABAD, Sept 25 (Reuters) - The leader of Afghanistan's ruling Taliban movement, Mullah Mohammad Omar, on Tuesday appealed to the American people to "use your sense" rather than blindly follow their government's policy to attack his country.

The appeal was made in a message addressed to the American people and faxed to Reuters from Omar's headquarters in the southern Afghan city of Kandahar.

"You should know whatever incidents and sorrow you suffer ... are a result of the erroneous policies of your government," he said, referring to the devastating suicide attacks in the United States on September 11.

Commenting on what he called the "recent incident and tragedy," he said: "You should think from where it occurred and who is behind it.

"But revenge for this is being taken upon Afghanistan and preparations are being made to attack Afghanistan. What will be its result?" he asked.

"You accept every thing your government says, whether it is true or false," Omar's message said, referring to U.S. assertions that bin Laden is the prime suspect in the attacks on the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon in New York.

"Don't you have your own thinking? Can Osama bin Laden carry out such an act in America?" he asked and advised the American people: "So it will be better for you to use your sense and understanding."

Heck, if we "average Americans" had our way, Afghanistan would be one gigantic piece of glass and all the Pakistanis would be asking for would be Windex!

He's one to talk. He is followed by people who can't think for themselves. He wants the WTC destroyed, and his blind followers do it. What a dolt!

Does this idiot think he's another Tokyo Rose? Sorry, Omar (may I call you Omar?) - the American people don't give a camel's butt what you think.

No, they are a result of a people bent on killing the infidels. We do not have a policy allowing planes to crash into our buildings. Our policies have nothing to do with this act. In fact, our policies are against this sort of act; we condemn terrorism. If that makes us responsible for this mass murder, then you sir (Omar) are responsible for turning Afghanistan into a parking lot.

Let's see how fast those camels can run...

Good, he certainly makes the case for his arrest and speedy trial in a court of law. Facts shown in court, supported by testimony sworn before Allah, must be on the top of his list in order to clear his good name before the world. I thank him for letting me think for myself.

I have to agree with the need for Americans to think ... and fight the "dumbing down" promulgated by "the left."

This is almost funny considering that the Taliban clerics boast a nearly 50% literacy rate.

That's true, though not the way he means it. Not dealing with bin Laden & Co. properly after they bombed our embassies was definitely an "erroneous policy".

I have a few words for this person.

You do not want Americans to do what they really want to do. You hurt one and you hurt us all. You killed our own, now we want YOURS.
