The attacks on the World Trade Centers and the Pentagon on September 11th were a horrible tragedy. They are to be condemned by all peace-loving people in the world.

In order for people to be able to think critically about what happened and make informed decisions about what the U.S. government's response should be, they need to hear a diversity of voices and perspectives in the media coverage of these events. Unfortunately, many voices have been missing. For example, the television networks and cable news stations, by and large, have not included the points of view of people who support non-violent responses to the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. By excluding these perspectives, the media perpetuate the cycle of violence that manifested itself on Tuesday.

We encourage you to hold the mainstream media accountable for its one-sided coverage. Right now, the mainstream media is encouraging an environment in which war or some other form of violent retribution is inevitable. We need to hear a range of perspectives, including those that urge non-violent action, to make an informed decision about how the U.S. should bring those responsible for the attacks to justice.

Call to action

Urge Fox News, the news program presenting the least diverse views, to include a full range of perspectives in their coverage of the terrorist attacks and possible responses to these attacks.
