In light of the Daffodil Principle where individual efforts over time add up to a mammoth contribution, we are looking at ways to use this lesson as we seek to promote conservatism, the Republican Party and the administration of George Bush.
We are currently involved in a letter-writing campaign - Project Daffodil-Letters. Some of us have been involved in the Klamath Falls Petition, and the People First petition to defund the Endangered Species Act. For more information about these projects and future projects, please visit the link above (Click on the picture above.)

So I am thinking. Can we all donate one thing on the Adopt a Soldier program and send it to one central person ( a brave Guilder), and then send it over to the soldiers as a big shipment from the Guild? It's just a thought.

What a grand idea, HLL. I'd love to volunteer to coordinate it, but I just was handed a project with an 11-15 date of completion on it. I'd contribute though.

There is a big list here. They need everything. I think at least 30 things. If we could all just sign up for one thing we could really make a great contribution. We have so many great and resourceful ladies, maybe one of us works for a company that would like to donate the shipping costs :)
I can't coordinate this because I am just too busy at work and haven't had a moment's rest.

Exactly what do you need. I own my own business and have four Pentium III/IV computers in my office, laser printers, scanners, faxes, etc. I have contacts all over the country. I will help however I can. I have great delegation skills, too (just ask my hubby!).

BTW, this is your best ever opening quote.

From Mondays thread:
The hippie look is back and groovier than ever, so peace, love, beads and bellbottoms to all! It seems as though the '70's is back in force, Anti-war demonstrators bare all. This could get ugly. Have you been shopping for shoes lately? EVERYTHING has squared toes. The world has gone mad!
Sorry I haven't been around. Between this computer acting up and trying to catch up with all the heavy housework I've been ignoring I'll try to stop in more today. Wish me luck! ;^)

Thanks, as always, HLL, for our nice fresh thread, and your keywords messed the monitor. Coffee blows to you! Seconding SmartBlonde's query, what, and how many of what, are we aiming to gather for the troop? Is cash an option? Spell it out, please.
Make this the best Tuesday since.....JL

Major props to both Continental and American Airlines! They both were very nice in allowing me, after a major sob story about the hail damaged crops, to move my flights ahead by two weeks. The great state of Iowa will be my home this Wednesday and Thursday, and back to Austin, Friday.
Be well, heal, NOW! JL

Clancy, I'm glad to see you got your cute little Wylie and Clancy posted here for us to see - Lynne had already answered your post yesterday before I got a chance to do so. Lynne, Honey is a honey! I didn't post my Roscoe's picture because I've done it before. Mixed breeds (mutts) are sometimes the very sweetest of all!
So, it was a Dog Day yesterday, thanks to our own Dog's birthday!

Good Morning!
Thanks for reminding me, WIMom. I forgot to say...
Happy Birthday to Dog and Mama_Bear!
Maybe we could coordinate the packages for the soliders like this. Each person puts together one or two packages of something. Like one would send a carton of drink mix, another could send a box of underware. But some items in bulk might cost more. What do you all think?

DId I buy any shoes? Of course I did!! I got the cutest, sexiest ankle boots. Pointy toes because I can't stand square toes.
I will try to locate the " WHAT THE TROOPS NEED" list. It's somewhere around here. They need things like blankets, popcorn, gladware, silverware, pre moistened towlettes. It would probably be easier if we could send like $5-$10 to one person with a Costco card, and they could send the stuff to the troops. We could all send a card or write an email to include in the box. That way there would only be one or two bog boxes going overseas.

Laughing. Those airline types will still fall for anything. EVERYBODY had hail this year,,,,, hail could hardly be used as a hardship at an Iowa ticket counter. You did Good,,, you did VERY good. Hope your yields are doing as well as they are here in the SE part of the state. Hubby weighed a check stip yesterday that went 214.
