Looks like they don't need a weatherman to tell them which way the wind is blowing. Too bad they didn't have this much courage two years ago...

A bunch of Taliban that revolt against their own bosses are still a bunch of Taliban. Mutiny or no, they all must be destroyed.

The ink hasn't dried on my last script of players and we have a new cast. Can't they make up their minds already?

That issue will give the Bush guys a tough one to chew on. Do you accept their change of heart? If this is what we wanted, then they would reasonably expect to be spared of punishment, right?

If we went ahead, and hit them, the same as any forces remaining in support of bin Laden to the end, we discourage the very thing we want to occur, eg. internal fractures, squabbles, etc.

Another story I read said that Omar is only able to spell his name, "Omar," and people are complaining that "the Arabs are taking over."

If they succeeded, and were ready to hand over Bin Laden, but then found out that they would be subject to the same treatment regardless of what they did (as would seem to be the policy if you were commanding the forces), they would then have no incentive to cooperate, and would conclude that rebelling was a waste of time.

It would be so much cheaper for the U.S. and better for our country than if they invade. There is a danger any new government would be seen as a new puppet, and we don't want any more puppets in Afghanistan."
Undoubtedly. The only trouble is, GHWB heard that song once before . . . "no need to take action; Saddam will be overthrown internally."

But the check seems to have been lost in the mail.

Way too little, too late for the Toweliban.

They are such craven cowards, they miscalculated who would win this standoff, and now, ONLY NOW, do they want to 'rebel' or 'mutiny' against the mainstream Toweliban.

Right.

They have no self respect, and will re-emerge as enemies again.

Give these jerks the same quarter they gave the WTC people.

Cowardly muslim maggots.

rushtafarian responds:

We are not the crew of the starship Enterprise. We do not have a "prime directive" here not to interfere. Perhaps in a more perfect world, we could be. We must stamp out this evil now. I am an airline pilot and my entire way of life is in peril since 9/11. I'm also former military and know that only through strength can we be heard by these factions. Sieze the initiative away from them and then crush them where they hide. After that, let the politicos return to their squabbling.

Sorry for the rant.

The Taliban are like Chameleons. They will keep changing their colors so that we do not catch them.

I respect your point of view. I simply recognize that if they eat each other, we shouldn't empede that process. I don't mean we should refrain from the use of immense force, when it is the best method.
