yep - I am always amazed at how intense the hatred is among Arab men against women. (I'm not saying ALL Arab men - but I have perceived it as a cultural phenomenon).

I'll have to discuss this one with liberal friends who always think Christians are repressed. I know so many liberals who think Christians aren't supposed to enjoy sex, when actually it is just that terrific sex is restricted to marriage. Yet, I've never heard the same liberals ATTACK Islam for it's sexually repressed dictates. Of course maybe that's because the rant homosexuality makes them giddy(liberals), but I doubt that since I'm sure liberals don't know enough about the middle east to know that this is going on. Ok, done thinking out loud!

Violating the masculinity of the enemy necessitates the dishing out of severe violence against him. In the recent terrorist strikes, therefore, violence against Americans served as a much-needed release of the terrorists’ bottled-up sexual rage. Moreover, it served as a desperate and pathological testament of the re-masculinization of their emasculated selves.

I'd like to see some solid scientific proof of this before I buy a ticket to get on board. Please note this guy is a Soviet Studies guy. When I was getting my Masters in International Relations, these guys were lamenting the collapse of their profession.

I think in the heated atmosphere of today, that a lot of things are being said that don't necessarily reflect reality on the ground. For instance, the first paragraph can broadly be applied to males anywhere on the planet. In the second paragraph I cut and pasted into this post, one could easily say the same thing about hard core Christians in this country.

I'd like to see some studies that've been done that statistically reflect some of these statements.

I agree that it appears as if the Moslem cultures have been producing a bumper crop of nutcases. In fact, it looks to me as if it's beyond just appearances. I think a lot of it can be related to poverty, religion and ideology, in addition to the pyschological reasons, whatever they may be.

But before we all jump whole hog onto the Muslim culture bashing bandwagon, I think we all need to do some reality checks and see what the evidence suggests is the true source of the anger. Just some thoughts.

The article doesn't talk about the sexual urges of the women. Do they engage in lesbian activities before marriage?
