SkyNews ^

According to Sky News, the "general threat" that the FBI is specifically concerned about is a truck bomb. They (Sky News) are unsure whether there is specific information to indicate that, or just based on general information that they've gathered.

It would fit considering they banned all large trucks from anywhere near government buildings in Washington. I'd say that's a bit of specific information we should be informed of. Hard to miss a large semi parked in an unusual spot.....

All bridges in Michigan going to Canada or to the Upper Pennisula are on High Alert. No tanker truck may pass over it without inspection, no boat may go near it without Coast Guard inspection.

Given the earlier report of stolen explosives, that's what I was thinking as well. I also had an additional eerie thought. Suppose the Palestinian protestor signs with Bin Laden and Bert are suggesting the terrorist target studios of public broadcasting where Sesame Street is filmed? That would definitely be a horrific terrorist act! Could using Bert on the signs have such a simple meaning?

Yep. Truck/car bombs are tools for terrorists the world over. One of the FIB's "Most Wanted Terrorists" issuspected to be the mastermind behind the Marine Barracks bomb, the Beirut Embassy bomb, Israeli Embassy bomb(Argentina) amongst others.
Just days after the WTC, the FIB's had one of their vans stolen in Maryland. Has it been recovered?

My view of it is this: We have intelligence on the ground there, and putting the Bert in the posters is our way of letting Osama and his buddies know that we have infiltrated them.

What about that 18-wheeler HAZMAT truck that disappeared on September 14th in Florida? That would make for a possible terrorist weapon would it not?

the "general threat" that the FBI is specifically concerned about is a truck bomb. A truck bomb? Yesterday's FBI "skyfall" is quite an overreaction if the threat is a truck bomb, IMHO. A network of truck bombs would seem more likely.

Would explain why my wife said they were searching trucks out on I75 here in Central Florida.

The posters were being carried by Palestinian youth during their riot in the last week. They are also showing up on the Arabic TV network. How does that figure into what you are saying? Wouldn't you think that it was a signal within the terrorist network since communications within Bin Laden's group has been disrupted?

Here in my corner of Virginia, trucks are being checked prior to entering tunnels.

I see it as a mocking of bin Laden. What could be more insulting to him than to have a children's entertainment character on the shoulder of the most dangerous man in the world?

We had 75 taxicabs in the Grandview Subdivision (Villa Park and Backlick Road, Springfield Virginia, a DC suburb before 9/11.
After 9/11 we had only 15.
This is the neighborhood where the convicted killer Kasi used to come down on Saturday mornings and repair brakes on taxicabs with his buddies.
Now, imagine 5 to 10 of these taxis filled to the gunnels with C-4 or other explosives. They could do about what they wanted, and all of the recent restrictions placed on trucks would have absolutely no effect on them. In fact, they could all drive up near the Capitol.
Since the Fairfax police had been IDing these taxicabs for a couple of months prior to 9/11, they should have a complete list of them available for the FBI, et al, to review.
