The Daily News has traded journalistic integrity for xenophobic hysteria. Your editorials are not only anti-Muslim, but they are hypocritical as well.
You dare speak of the treatment of women in Afghanistan when no woman is safe right here in America. More women are raped, battered, murdered, prostituted, sexually exploited in America than any where on earth. In many companies, the most a woman can hope for is a position as a secretary or receptionist. Countless women in America are impregnated and abandoned by men.
You speak of a disparity in the education of men and women in Afghanistan. Need I remind you of the disparity between the schools in white communities and black communities in this "land of equality"?
On Oct. 8, an interview quoted a so-called expert named Daniel Pipes as saying that many Muslims "are peaceable in appearance but they all must be considered potential killers." This statement will force many Muslims in this city to have to defend themselves from verbal and physical attack. I will regard the Daily News as responsible for any injuries to Muslims in Philadelphia.
Mr. Pipes and the Daily News editorial staff should remember that America has murdered more people than any nation in the history of mankind. From the slaughter of the Native Americans, the enslavement of Africans, the killing of 23 million Mexicans, the bombing of Japan and the quarter of a million Iraqis killed in Desert Storm, it is clear that America leads the world in genocide.
We Muslims long ago tired of having our women mocked by your evil-minded cartoonist, Signe Wilkinson.
This is no longer about Osama bin Laden. America has declared war on Islam and the Muslims. You cannot bomb an entire nation simply because you are after one man or because you dislike the government there.
We condemn the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center. We also condemn America's bombing of Libya, Sudan, Iraq, Afghanistan - and the Philadelphia police bombing of Osage Avenue.
Despite your editorial attacks against us, Islam continues to grow in Philadelphia and America. The only people who listen to your drivel are your fellow bigots. We don't expect you to change. We just hope you rot in hell.

The Imam may not be completely wrong about this. The secular West's emphasis on freedom of, rather than respect for,women has had many negative consequences for families, children and women.

As opposed to the Taliban? The key difference between the repressions of the West and the repressions of Islam are our repressions are side-effects of our society. Theirs are DIRECTLY MANDATED BY THEIR RELIGIOUS LAWS.

The executions are held in the old soccer stadium in Kabul on Friday afternoons during the Muslim holy day - those chalk lines are lines for a soccer field. I'm glad to see we're not going to bomb them on their holy day - wouldn't want to interrupt the regularly scheduled executions.
Perhaps, but the difference is the American government doesnt condone it. How is it that so many women in Afghanistan are raped? They are barely allowed outdoors. Oh thats right, its condoned by their own families.
