WASHINGTON -- Months before the Sept. 11 attacks, the United Nations and the European Union directed their members to freeze the assets of five lieutenants of Osama bin Laden, including his brother-in-law and financial handler. The U.S. government didn't do it until Friday.

Members of Congress want to know why Treasury officials charged with disrupting the finances of terrorists didn't follow the lead of some of the closest U.S. allies back in January.

Hmmm... Ten months ago? Where was Bill? Pardoning Marc Rich and banging his wife... Parding Roger... Stealing furniture... No wonder Clinton had no time for this.

After the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, which killed six and injured 1,000; President Clinton promised that those responsible would be hunted down and punished.

After the 1995 bombing in Saudi Arabia, which killed five U.S. military personnel; Clinton promised that those responsible would be hunted down and punished.

After the 1996 Khobar Towers bombing in Saudi Arabia, which killed 19 and injured 200 U.S. military personnel; Clinton promised that those responsible would be hunted down and punished.

After the 1998 bombing of U.S. embassies in Africa, which killed 224 and injured 5,000; Clinton promised that those responsible would be hunted down and punished.

After the 2000 bombing of the USS Cole, which killed 17 and injured 39 U.S. sailors; Clinton promised that those responsible would be hunted down and punished.

If Clinton had kept his promise, an estimated 7,000 people in New York and Washington, D.C. that are now dead would be Alive today.

Thirty-nine new groups and individuals were added to the list Friday. Last month, President Bush froze the assets of 27 groups and individuals suspected of terrorism or involvement with terrorists.

I am absolutely a Bush supporter. But if we've had a full list since January, why weren't they all affected last month instead of some then and some more on Friday?

With the list coming out in January, Clinton had very little time to do something with it. He did nothing, of course. And perhaps the late start due to the election interfered with Bush's handling of this. But it seems to me doing it all at once would have been fairly easy.

Who were the terrorists Clinton released? (a group of 8 or so) in New York. Who were the Terrorists that had access to the White House when Bill was violating it?

Can anyone tell me?

Thanks Bill, you putrid disbarred lawyer, you vomitous pitiful excuse for a pseudo-humanoid, you chunky barf traiterous narcisstic sociopath.

Your legacy will always be as obvious as your greed and generic vileness.

No doubt Mr. Tenet's egyptian roots has clouded his judgement.

Tenet is the son of Greek immigrants, and growing up in Queens, N.Y., he and his twin brother, William, worked in the family-owned diner.----Excerpt from CNN ALLPOLITICS ARTICLE

Clinton left a mess for President Bush to clean up. The hundreds of executive orders that had to be reviewed; etc. Plus, in a lot of cases, the only person that he had in place in various departments was the Cabinet Secretary. And then there is the bureaucracy to consider.

"There was a lack of connecting the dots that has existed because these entities have not had a history of communicating with each other, of sharing information," said Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., a member of the Foreign Relations Committee.

This is pure crap. Either someone needs to connect the dots between his two brain cells, or the poor United States will have to get a new phone in the White House. Those darned new fangled inventions just don't work.

I'm sick of hearing this excuse. The real reason is that members of Congress - both Republicans and Democrats receive campaign money from the friends of terrorists, and possibly terrorists themselves, as Hillary Clinton did.

This story went straight to my bookmark. I want to pin down every lousy name on every 106th Congressional committee, etc., that didn't "connect the dots." Any assistance will be appreciated.

LOL! With Clintonites it is just an automatic response: Mention his name and they drop to their knees and make like a Shop-Vac!

Yes, I understand that Clinton left a mess. And simply stumbling upon this information probably would have been difficult.

However, when the President of the United States wanted this information, why wasn't anyone able to get him ALL the information?

Perhaps a lot of information goes forgotten or gets misplaced when there is a transition? I'm not blaming Bush, I just think that who ever was supposed to supply him this info, even as late as last month, screwed up.
