From my friend:

"That purple flash of light that you see right when the Javelin impacts the tank (in the first magnification of the tank explosion) is the combustion/reaction of the Chromium in the anti-radiation shield incorporated in the metal and armor of the tank."

Try not to crash the server downloading this all at once.

What is that that gets ejected to the right just before the second, main, stage kicks in?

I used to really love this part of SCTV. Once they "blowed up" Brooke Shields (brilliantly played by Catherine O'Hara) real good.

I miss John Candy. I miss Johnny La Rue too.

Thanks for that clip, folks.

Well, I am humbled, because a long time ago, I wrecked my hearing working with the HEAT 105..and back then that was pretty impressive but this damage in the film clip brought tears to this old Powder Monkey's eyes.

When playing, you can use the bar to stop action and step a few frames at a time, for an almost erotic display of this pyrotechnic ballet.

I always said, after seeing HEAT in action that I would sooner go into battle naked than in a tank.

There is nothing sporting about a Turtle Shoot.

*sniff* wiping away a sentimental tear..

Hmm, the sound at launch is synced to the picture, but so is the distant explosion. I don't think that is possible. You should have seen the explosion and then heard the boom delayed a few seconds. Something is not right here.
