"The game of reporting is to smoke 'em out," he says. Asked whether his team would report the presence of an American commando unit it found in, say, a northern Pakistan village, he doesn't exhibit any of the hesitation of some of his news-business colleagues, who stress that they try to factor security issues into their coverage decisions.

And as I type this, I am reminded above this frame that "Loose lips sink ships". These people are worse than loose lips, they're loose cannons!
These are the very same people who told us they refused to report on the impeachment affair because "the public isn't interested." Give me a break! ...and give them a call.

And don't forget your congressmen; the government should not be providing even a dime to such as these.

Amen - couldn't have said it better myself. I mean, you'd think this guy was an Afghani reporter. Let him go live over there, if he wants to report American troop movements to the enemy. We have a word for that where I am from - It's called treason. "Providing aid or comfort to an enemy" anybody heard that before?

"You report it," Jenkins says. "I don't represent the government. I represent history, information, what happened." Then maybe you should stop accepting government money to fund your treasonous program. Good luck out there in the marketplace!

Amen; Newt was correct...Funds should have bee cut off for this un-American outfit long ago. Friends of Bill can fund it just fine. Not my tax dollars!!!

It's called treason We need a declaration of War from Congress. With that, we could call it like you and everyone else sees it.
This BS about "representing history, not America", well, that is just a weasel way of saying "anti-American".

The folks at NPR might want to rethink their position. If a US military commander believes that an NPR reporter is giving away their troop positions that makes the NPR reporter an enemy intelligence source and a legitimate target of US fire.
Their position on this issue makes them equivalent to an enemy scout. As such, they should be killed (armed or not).

One bright spot here - the chances of either Osama or the Taliban actually listening to NPR are extremely low.
Imagine Osama, sitting in his cave, listening to Garrison Keilor relate tales of Lake Wobegone...

Any bets about how fast this bozo would be complaining if the details of his and his family's daily routines and personal security precautions were published on the net? Jerks like him don't give a damn about the lives of our soldiers, but would be immediately crying for their help in any situation that threatened him.

Jenkins is no more than a enemy agent. Can't be any different if one of ben Ladin's people walked into our positions, took pictures and notes, announced that he had a right to do this and marched back to his headquarters. Time to extract these people. War isn't a situation where rights take priority over life and winning the conflict.
