Just reported on FNC as well. Scary - didn't they catch this as soon as it opened?

I believe we are dealing with airborne now, as 20 people do not handle a single letter in a Senator's office from a fourth grade class.
This almost reminds me of the scene from "Outbreak" with Dustin Hoffman and Cuba Goodling Sr. when they discover "it's airborne." Man I hope this is not true.
If we find the nation state behind it, we need an immediate Declaration of War.

They are saying that this anthrax was "highly refined," and was "pulverized" as per FOX news. According to the CDC, inhalation anthrax is 89 to 97% fatal. I hope they didn't inhale any of it.

well...most scary.....is that the letter to Daschle's office was mailed after Sept 11. Whoever mailed it is still out there.

I tell ya, if we get too many more of these Isolated Incidents I'm gonna be able to open my own car lot. How bout you guys? I can't do
all the damn shopping by myself.
OBTW, according to Fox earlier this AM, it was munitions grade at Daschle's office, non-munitions grade at the TV network, and both have been traced to the same source.
Can you say "toyed with"?

I agree with your analysis. This isn't the same anthrax that hit Fla.

It's not really "airborne" like the virus in Outbreak. They created bacteria spores small enough to hang in the air and blow through the building. It's frightening though that you could open a envelope, quickly realize it might be anthrax and boom! suddenly 15 people are infected. A VERY effective formulation of anthrax apparently.

According to the CDC, inhalation anthrax is 89 to 97% fatal. 89 to 97% fatal if not treated.

You're right.....20+ people wouldn't have handled a single letter. This sounds "airborne", doesn't it?
Senator Lieberman was just on CNN and said he was on Cepro...the doctors insisted, he said, definitely implying he wouldn't be on it if it were up to him. (I love it when these guys go for "macho".) Just doesn't compute!

I disagree. It cannot be said that its not the same. 20 people in Daschle's Office. 8 at AMI. Those numbers aren't that far apart and differing numbers of people in each site could account for the differences in exposure.

How are they getting it? They received the letter after it was already known that Anthrax was sent in Florida. So they knew to use extreme caution when handling envelopes with power in it.
What did they do? Pass the envelope around the office? Could this be some new form of Anthrax that is indeed cantageous [sp]?
