Pakistani government sources told Kyodo News on Wednesday that Taliban Foreign Minister Abdul Wakil Muttawakil has agreed with representatives of former Afghan King Zahir Shah to oust Taliban leader Mohammed Omar.

It's hard to decide if this is a good thing or not. Another article posted a bit earlier says that Muttawakil came to Pakistan on behalf of the Taliban with an offer to turn over Bin Ladin if the US stops the bombing. So, the question is, What's his bottom line? Is he planning to betray us or the Taliban?
We're bound to end up with some treacherous oaf running Afghanistan, whatever we do. But we need somehow to pick a leader who can hold the country together and rein in the Islamic fanatics.
