Illegal immigrant workers arrested at Sea-Tac
KING-5

Posted on 10/18/2001 11:23:06 PM PDT by djf

KING-5 news out of Seattle has just reported that a woman that works at Sea-Tac airport (waving the wand at ya when you go through security) has been arrested and charged with falsifying documents. She apparently is from Columbia and purchased a green card for $300. There are an estimated 20 more workers there in highly sensitive positions that are illegals also.

I hope they get all this stuff cleared up soon so they can go back to arresting Americans for smoking in bars!

I was wondering when this would happen. I've done contract work in the past at Sea-Tac and I always had a bad feeling about the fact that so many of the people working security could barely speak english.

I haven't been into or out of Sea-Tac since Sep 11, so I am unsure how much things have changed. I did notice, however, the last time I was there, in August that they banned all smoking outside the airport on the sidewalk!

Several years ago the Coast Guard on Pier 36 in Seattle was having the roof on a very large warehouse replaced. Right in the middle of the project, with winter approaching, INS came onto base (with permission of course) and arrested better than half of the workers.

I was very, very glad I was not the project officer for that task.

Incredible, isn't it? I was at LAX about 6 months ago and they provide outside smoking areas. Looks like we beat California on the P.C. scale with this one.

Saddest thing about all this is I can't help but wonder if even one of the Federal agents at the Klamath river debacle had been working for INS instead of some dam sucker fish, if the whole thing might have been prevented.

I've been to Seatac a few times since 9/11. The police are stopping every car as it approaches the departure are. they ask who is travelling and look inside the car and trunk. No cars allowed to park at the curb, just drop off and keep moving. No one is allowed past the security areas unless you have a ticket. The parking garage is extremely crowded with cars circling trying to find parking spaces. If you have to go there it works best to just be dropped off at the curb and also picked up at the departure area, not the arrival area. It moves much more quickly.

Or just go a block up on Pac Highway, wait 20 minutes, and jump on the 174.
