I just heard Hugh Hewitt and Morton Kondracke talking on KRLA 870 in Los Angeles about the anthrax letters.
Kondracke said that Carl Cameron reported on FOXNews today that the strain of anthrax found in Florida, New York, and Washington D.C. was identical to that sold by a Virginia firm to Iraq in the 1980s.
If this is true, this would be a rather conclusive smoking gun implicating Iraq as the source of the recent anthrax attacks in this country.
I don't get FOXNews myself. Can anyone confirm?
I don't think so. If this strain were sold to others, you have no "smoking gung." But even if this strain were sold only to Iraq, all it proves is that the strain of anthrax went through Iraq. It may well have been "acquired" from them, willingly or otherwise, by other parties who chose to develop and use it.
These labs keep records so track down the buyers and see where it leads. Maybe to Iraq, maybe someplace in the states, Maybe both.
Just give it a little time. Ill bet the FBI gets the guy.
So why is the government lying? Probably they do not want the country to panic.
Where does the trail lead to? Untimately the the country that supports all of the terrorist nations--Russia.
...maybe it's just smoking dung.
Don't know how much evidence you want, but here's what we know for sure...
- The anthrax attacks are linked by proximity of time and geography to the events ot 9/11. We know that terrorist cels involved with 9/11 were located near or in the zipcodes where the anthrax letters were mailed.
- The anthrax letters to Tom Daschle, Tom Brokaw and American Media contained anthrax of the same genetic strain. Thus they are likely from the same perpetrator.
- While the anthrax letter to Tom Daschle was of a more finely-milled strain and was apparently produced by a more advanced and lethal process, that letter was addressed by the same hand that addressed the Brokaw letter. So we know that anthrax attacks in Florida, NewYork, and Washington are all connected.
- While it's possible that some domestic group has gotten ahold of some anthrax, it's unlikely that they would have had the facilities to produced the sophisticated form found in the Daschle letter. Only the U.S., Britain, Russia, and Iraq are known have that capacity.
- Two of the Florida terrorists rented a residence from the wife of one of the executives of American Media, where the first anthrax infections were reported.
- Mohammed Atta, suspected ringleader of the 9/11 terrorists, is known to have met with agents of Iraqi intelligence in the last year.
Taken as a whole, while one can't absolutely rule out domestic terror in the anthrax attacks, there is no eveidence pointing to a domestic perpetrator.
- Atta has also been reported by a pharmacist in his area to have behaved in a suspicious manner prior to 9/11 that hase no reasonable connection to hijacking, but which would be very consistent with an anthrax plot.
ALL of what we currently know points to foreign terrorists, with a probable connection to Iraq. This genetic connection further seals the verdict.
Given the long track record of Newsmax for incompetent reporting and egregious, obvious errors of fact in their articles, I think it's a bit more likely Chris Ruddy is an idiot than the government is lying.
We need to take a STRONG OFFENSIVE instead of sitting back and JUST REACTING in this WAR!!! SO FAR ALL WE ARE DOING IS REACTING!!! THIS IS A WAR!!! WE CAN'T AFFORD TO SIT BACK AND DEFEND!! WE MUST BE MANY STEPS AHEAD OF THE EVIL DOERS OR WE WILL SUFFER GREATLY!!!
It seems so.
When they talk about it not being weapons grade -- we get conflicting reports -- they are referring to it not being the most virulent strain or not being resistant to certain antibiotics.
But the fine powderization is more important in determining if it comes from a biowarefare lab.
Also, because it lodges in tissue when inhaled, it can sit dormant for 60 days or so, then start to grow. When that happens the toxins are released and the disease kicks in.
We have a ways to go to really know the extent of exposure.
In the 1979 Russian accident where 66 people who lived near a USSR bio-warfare lab died, it was estimated that as little as 4 milligrams was released, with the high end being one gram.
That's not much.
One good thing learned in that accident -- only adults, usually older, died. No children or young people.
So, ah, what is the weather report for Iraq today? Like maybe 3,000 degree temperatures, with 900 MPH winds, and cloudy. Mushroom cloudy, that is.
