Anthony Hopkins Says America Misses Bill Clinton
By Mike Szymanski
October 20, 2001
TORONTO (Zap2it.com) -- New American citizen, Anthony Hopkins, says after spending a bit of personal time with former President Bill Clinton, that he thinks that the U.S. public seems to miss the controversial president.
"It seems to me that the country rather misses him," says the actor who won an Oscar for his cannibalistic role in "Silence of the Lambs." "He has impressed me."
Last year, Hopkins became a U.S. citizen and after Clinton left office, they got acquainted in Las Vegas at a function with a mutual friend who knew Clinton. The actor and the former president hit it off well.
"He asked me if I wanted to accompany him on a trip to Brazil, and so off I went," Hopkins said during interviews for his latest film, the Warner Bros. nostalgic heart-warmer "Hearts in Atlantis."
"I'd met the president before in Washington, a very nice guy," Hopkins siad. "So we were at this dinner, talking after his gig, he gave this incredible speech and he said, 'Would you like to come to Brazil with me next week?' Of course I said 'Yes.'"
The trip took a lot out of Hopkins however.
"He's pretty exhausting to be with," sighs Hopkins, "because he's always wanting to play cards or golf."

Insert joke here. If the story itself hasn't made you fall onto the floor in fits of giggles.

That's for sure. We still haven't recovered from eight years with Bill.

Clintoon is 11 years older than I am, that means I can reasonable expect him to die before I do!
When that happens I intend to travel to his burial site and piss on his grave!!

Actually, I am notoriously short on patience, but it is a matter of giving the public what they want!!
I would wait until I died!!!

Hopkins better stick to acting, no brains required, no ability to judge character needed. He proves that without a doubt.

All Slick was ever interested in (besides sex, treason and drugs) was hobnobbing it with Celebrities. Our White Trash President thought he was in Hollywood playing a part for 8 years.

No, Anthony, we don't miss Bubba.
He only keeps saying we do. Apparently it works on suspectible simpletons like you.

Hm.....and just in case you happen to predecease him, you can always collect some in a bottle and leave instructions in your will for someone to pour it on x42's grave after he passes on. Just an idea. :-)

"He's pretty exhausting to be with......."That's putting it mildly. Being with that loser can be fatal.
