[history]
The father of one of the first two combat-related deaths in the Afghanistan conflict said his son was doing what he loved as an Army Ranger.
Donn Edmunds, father of Spc. Jonn Joseph Edmunds, 20, of Cheyenne, fought back tears as he spoke to reporters outside his home Monday. Next to him was a large photograph taken of his son after Jonn graduated from basic training.

It does not escape me that these two came from Wyoming and Montana, and NOT from Berkeley, CA.
My father was only 15 and a half, when the Japs attacked Pearl Harbor. When he reached age 17, he enlisted in the Marines, and wound up in Okinawa, where he earned a Purple Heart.
Wyoming native, he was, too. He was proud of Cheney during Desert Storm. He would have been proud, to have a VP from Wyoming.

bookmarking out of respect for this man and his son. I will pray for him. I feel very grateful that his son was willing to sacrifice his life for our freedom.

The ultimate sacrifice! A great man from a great family. My prays are for him and his family.
BTW, notice in the picture some stupid news-bunny with the mic shoved right in the man's face. Probably asking him, "how do you feel, right now?".

I served with Donn in the Wyoming National Guard. He is a wonderful man. He served bravely and proudly in Vietnam and served for many more years in the National Guard.
I remember his pride when Jonn was born.
"True Americans" falls short of describing Donn and Jonn.
