WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Saying the people of Afghanistan are "not our enemy," Sen. Paul Wellstone on Wednesday expressed regrets over a report that errant U.S. bombs may have killed civilians.
"I think it is a tragedy and I deeply regret the fact that there are innocent Afghans who lost their lives as a result of the bombing," said Wellstone.

"the highest priority must be to avoid the loss of innocent life in Afghanistan." Er, unfortunately, no. If that was our highest priority, we'd stop bombing. Our highest priority is to defend innocents in our country by killing those who want to kill us. On the bright side, this will probably benefit the innocents of Afghanistan in the long run, by removing their oppressors.

I wonder if Wellstone can locate Afghanistan on a map?

Does anybody know if Wellstone has publicly voiced concern about the 6,000 who died on 9/11?

Wellstone was THE most hysterical critic of the Gulf War. He kept hammering that "thousands of body bags would come home."
I predict he will eventually start an Osama Bin Laden support group at the university where he taught.
If there was a definition of Liberal White Guilt in the dictionary, his photo would suffice.

This guy must not read the Guardian. Last week, they had a story about a Taliban commander who defected. He claimed he was sick of being ordered to kill civilians, after having killed 100+ on his own.
The world really does seem to hate us. Maybe it's time to give them the TRUE Mother of All Wars they crave so desperately.

Thank you for the "barf" warning...
I guess I misunderstood what the war was for. I thought the war was to eliminate vermin...my mistake.
Also, note that on another thread the these "civilians" are being "required" by the Taliban to take up arms against us. So in essence, we are getting them before they make it to the armory. That is called "anticipation".

Without more U.S. aid, Wellstone said, 100,000 Afghan children could die this winter from hunger and disease.Or more Pakistani aid. Or Syrian aid. Or a cessation of Taliban attempts to thwart our humanitarian efforts. But why quibble, when the important thing is to blame hunger and disease on the USA?

Wellstone has always been a commie traitor, chicken sh*t weenie, two faced idiot. One of the most dogmatic, knee jerk hard left wing pieces of crap in the senate. What a scumbag.
Of course, that's just my opinion, I could be wrong.

Uzbekistan may deserve some reward for helping us in a time where we needed them. But feeding the Afghan people doesn't even make my list, let them starve. When they get tired of being hungry & turn over Bin Laden, then you can reward them with food. Another thing, if we're to give any creedence to the Scumbags that say that it's because of our Policing of other countries that they hate us so much, then the answer is so simple. Don't tell them what to do, don't give them any money and don't feed them.

Time for some other Senator/Congressman to step forward and let him have it for voicing such a stupid concern.

I happen to love Minnesota and the people are quite friendly but how in the hell did this "Schumer of the Midwest" get elected.....is it just the liberals in Minneapolis?...I just don't get it....he reminds me of Jerry Brown.
