Anyone know anything about a big explosion or tremor in Astoria, Queens, NYC a few minutes ago? I guess a number of buildings are being evacuated and the FDNY/NYPD are around. I just heard this on a friend from his cell phone.

Oh my God, I'm on the Upper East Side and a few minutes ago the entire building shook. But there was no NOISE. I couldn't figure it out, went up and down the stairs trying to figure out if it was something in the building.
Couldn't find anything on TV, and cannot sleep now, so I came here.

Hey man I'm at work and we've got no TV here...I'm working near the top of 30 Rockefeller, we felt nothing, but my crew and I would appreciate it if anything hits the news

(Williamsburg Brooklyn)LOL. We didn't think you meant Virginia! ;-)

Look, I thought it was an earthquake. There was a small one here about nineteen years ago that I remember, and the building shook the same way. I live in a brownstone and the tremor woke me up that night, but my friends in high-rise apartment buildings didn't feel a thing.

Still nothing on the news. Friend just said she heard a lot explosion type nothing. Described it as a loud BOOM and a SHAKING Anyone have any local feeds in New York City with additional information? Not hearing anything on National News

I just went up to security, and he broke out his transistor radio and CBS newsradio was talking about the yankees. He said he'd call if he heard more.

It's not you, they must have certain bands closed to the public. I'm only gettting bits and pieces too, and nothing pertinent.
