WELCOME TO THE POLICE STATES OF AMERICA Now that HR 3162 the so called antiterrorism bill has become law,We the People should be more concerned with this illicit power grab which for all intents & purposes shreds whatever vestiges were left of our Constitution despite the hollow claims of those who enacted it.The risk to most citizens of govt abuse now is greater than from any possible foreign perpetrator.Cameras everywhere, Internet snoops beware Big Brother is on the prowl.Do u FEEL safer now?As for me,I pledge allegiance to the GOP Republicans for totalitarianism which it stands under King George(not again)where liberty & justice fail & tyranny looms for all.How long will We the sheeple go on overlooking these ever more noxious usurpations by these political parasites & render them support & subsidy by way of votes & tax dollars?Pull the plug folks. Some dare call it treason.I for one.How about U? TAKE BACK AMERICA NOW

Nonsense! You should have lived in the South in the ‘50s. This is nothing.

This (sooner or later to be ruled) unconstitional law sunsets in four years? Do you really believe that? Has any other significant government power grab ever sunset when it was supposed to?

Hey Ray?

What about the word, "War" don't you understand, my friend?

Sunset? Bet your life on it?

We should examine every law passed as if the butcher, John Reno was in charge of the DOJ. Would you approve of this bill if Clinton/Reno were in power? If not, then it's a menace.

Only specific clauses within the bill are slated for sunset, and those will be reauthorized or transfered as riders onto other bills to keep them effective long past the sunset date. Government does not relinquish powers without a fight.

Maybe you ought to asking Congress that question. After all, they are the ones who deliberated and came to the conclusion that this crisis does not rise to the level of "War."

It looks like two parties have declared war on America. The Muslim terrorists, and the Congressional terrorists.

The congress has not declared war on the muslims, only us.

And don't give me this "nothing to hide stuff," or I'll come over and take the doors off your bathroom. After all, who needs privacy?

Active rationing ended, but the laws and regulations are still in place to allow every level of government, from FEMA to your local city, to declare an emergency and begin rationing immediately. Rationing is still with us after half a century.

Look, Garrisson?
You made your point...
But that door on my bathroom?
If I were you I'd cool off before you go taking anything down.

That door on my bathroom's there for your protection, buddy.

Yes, and that income tax thing in 1913 was temporary and supposed to never go over 10%...

As for those insisting that this is war, and the rules are different, I must partly disagree... unless and until Congress grows the cojones to legally declare this a war, then these acts should be viewed with great skepticism. Way to be 'ever-vigilant', raysol.

Ahh, the 'anarchy, revolt, split from the union is the only solution' refrain coming from raysol now. Same song another verse of the chorus from D Joyce on another thread. The anarchists are busy today, perhaps serving their democrat bosses, building their needed dissatisfaction murmer for the 2002 election cycle!

McVeigh a good friend of yours, too? I'm calling you an extremist, you say?... Hey you're downright anti-American trying to portray yourself as the last defense of liberty in your blind calls for revolt.

United we stand, divided ... well, suffice it to say, the anti-Republic crowd hide their desire to end with violence this Republic as now formulated, to divide it unto death, behind calls for extreme reactions, drastic ripping and shredding of unity, extreme measures designed to pit citizen against citizen and citizen against the law enforcement agencies.

Fact is, if these same 'people' were half as committed to reform as they are committed to dissolution, they would work to elect different people to government. Anarchy mongerers want a quick fix to something that has build up over decades, decades when they sat in the comfort of their livingrooms and complained about the elections without getting active in the process. Now, when we are literally facing our own demise from an enemy foreign, these same bitch and complain 'patriots' want to take action that will insure our final disunity and thus our downfall ... perhaps these 'patriots' believe they can fend off the mongrel hordes of half-starved gangs when the ultimate result of internal strife that destroys legal means has run its course.

And before you try to play the 'served my country' card, raysol dude, I was taught to reach out and touch someone; I understand self-discipline to an extent that doesn't require your further instruction. You and your anarchy crowd are dangerous domestic fifth columns trying to destroy my country from within, trying to bring on the armegeddon in this country. I see you clearly as an enemy domestic and Osama&co as enemies foreign.

If you have nothing to hide, what are you afraid of? This is to find the guilty. If you're not doing anything illegal, it won't affect you. Otherwise, I hope they get you.
