Good for them! The people on the frontlines are always the last to get any sort of protection.

I guess it never dawned on them that they might quit and find another job.

Is that the solution to everything? When your employer is possibly endangering your life (and it has killed two other postal workers) you should stand up and complain about it. Just quitting and letting others die is morally reprehensible.

My understanding was they did not understand the depth of the problem. Is there any reason they can't take the medicine if need be and go on with their lives?

That postal union leader looks like a real winner to me. Not.

Are you suggesting that if you were reasonably certain that your place of employment represented a deadly threat and your bosses were doing little to protect you that your first recourse would be to contact an attorney instead of a health care professional or an employment agency?

When your employer is possibly endangering your life

How insulting. This reminds me of people who join the military and the first time a little dust up comes along, they are SHOCKED to find out they may have to fight.

No, I'm not. I'm saying that the only recourse that the postal employees have (and I believe it to be a good one) is to go on strike so that the government will pay attention to them.
Are you suggesting that they shouldn't complain and just either still work or quit? Can't say something is wrong with the system and try and fix it?

What makes you think they aren't doing everything they can NOW.......I mean as soon as they knew something was wrong, they started taking care of it.

Do you think there should be somebody sitting in D.C. thinking of things/ways that the terrorists might try to harm this country and putting in preventative measures?

My response? Close it down, privitize the postal service and sell the assets to UPS and FEDEX. Damn the postal union. Damn them all.

How insulting...
How is that insulting? The anthrax letters came through the postal service. Any pronouncements from Tommy T or Thomas Ridge about testing the postal workers for anthrax? Nope. The workers just want to work in a safe environment, is that too much to ask?

When the going gets tough, the union leadership looks to make a buck.

Stop cluttering up the discussion with union propoganda. This isn't local 666's union hall.
