[history]
She describes herself as a pro-choice lesbian feminist. She is a former president of the Los Angeles chapter of the National Organization for Women (NOW). So why is Tammy Bruce declaring war on political correctness and defending conservative radio talk-show host Laura Schlessinger?

Finally, a gay activist that has the decency to stand up for toleration and freedom of speech for traditional religious believers and against the left's normal demonization tactics. Three cheers for Ms. Bruce!

Yet Ms. Bruce still says NOW's support of President Bill Clinton suggested "a conflict of interest."WOW, an honest liberal feminist. Don't see this every day.

She sounds like a libertarian with bad behavior.

While living in L.A., I had the opportunity to listen to Tammy Bruce being interviewed quite often. I generally liked what she had to say, and her fairness, in spite of her political situation. She actually used logic in making decisions instead of being one of the NOW sheep. (Ditto Camille Paglia.)

Wow! When one of "their own" start making sense, maybe some of their others will wake up and smell the coffee......well, I can hope can't I??

I am speechless--almost. Where did this woman come from? Is it possible that she, like Clarence Thomas, refused to kowtow to the socialist/liberals? I like that kind of guts.

Well, yes, it was about murder, which in one count of the specification against OJ involved a LOT of violence against a woman. So she was at least 50% right.

"...The California NOW chapter did receive a grant from the Centers for Disease Control for a campaign called 'Re-Defining Liberation,' which was broader than just anti-smoking." And this is supposed to be better?? Frankly, if my federal tax dollars are going to be wasted on such things, I'd rather have the anti-smoking focus than a "Re-Defining Liberation campaign."

It has always amazed me that the biggest drum beaters to nail Dr. Laura about her opinions are the same fools who cry about the freedom of speech.

Ms. Bruce is absolutely right concerning "groupthink."
Too bad the very folks who need it most are blind to the concept!

I can't recall her name, but several years ago, a brave former member (president of the chapter, I believe) of NOW on the east coast came forward and admitted that she and many of her cohorts knowingly kept the lies told by Anita Hill about Judge Clarence Thomas in the media spotlight.
She said everyone involved knew the allegations were false but felt the end would justify the means if they could keep an honorable, Pro-Life judge from serving on the US Supreme Court.
I saw her twice on television (I believe it was FOX) and then she and her admissions dropped off the media radar.
Does anyone remember her name? I believe she spoke with a barely discernable Slavic accent. She was very articulate.
