[history]
Doctors have a new clue to help sort out whether people with aches and coughs have the ominous first signs of inhaled anthrax or ordinary colds and flu: Anthrax victims don't have runny noses.
In general, the first symptoms of inhaled anthrax are the same as the flu and other wintertime viruses -- fever, ache, cough, no energy. As a result, some worry that doctors will prescribe lots of anthrax-killing antibiotics -- which do nothing for colds and flu -- just to make sure they don't miss a case of anthrax in its early, treatable stage.

BTTT. Come to think of it, my nose isn't running. It hasn't in about a week. I think I'm in trouble.

Great. I just came down with my first sickness in over 6 months and guess what, no runny nose. Oh no, time to take anit-biotics ! Actually, I have never taken anti-biotics in my entire live. Probably got something from some Chinese Food I ate a few days ago. Perhaps they should also state that if you are almost bed riden, its time to seriously look into the sickness. This bug I got is slow and mild. Having no problem working without medication.

I'm taking my daughter to the doctor 1st thing in the morning for a culture. She's got 3 out of the 4 symptoms mentioned here for inhalation anthrax.
And no, I'm not laughing. I'm scared sh*tless!

I hope she will be alright...Let's us know

This is good news, everyone in my family has a nose cold at present.
To: classygreeneyedblonde
Will do. Unfortunately, I don't think I'm gonna sleep well at all tonight. In fact, if it weren't for the fact that she's sound asleep now, I'd run her over to the nearby hospital and get her tested right now! It's the fatigue symptom that worries me the most, plus the cough thing - she's asthmatic already and her immune system works overtime as it is!
To: NotJustAnotherPrettyFace
I hope it's just a cold or the flu not wishing either on her just so it's not anthrax...
To: classygreeneyedblonde
No fooling! I hope it's something as simple and easy to cure as strep throat. The inhalation version of this bug scares me.
To: NotJustAnotherPrettyFace
I hope she's okay. I didn't mean to make light of a serious situation.
