November 3, 2001 -- A short-lived American myth died in Islamabad yesterday, when the Urdu-language Daily Jang - the largest daily newspaper in Pakistan - announced that a letter hand-delivered to its offices had tested positive for anthrax. The Pakistani government reported anthrax exposure at three other sites.

The real question is why no reporter will even mention the most obvious suspects. The Nation of Islam and the IAC. Both groups are known to be violent. Both groups have come out in support of the Taliban.
Larry, chill, man! The shit came from Iraq! Everybody knows it, OK? Jeez!...
We have to clear-out Afghanistan first.
We have to drain the swamp first, then kill the 'gators. It's gonna take some time.
See y'all next week....FRegards
Nuclear, Biological, & Chemical Warfare- Survival Skills, Pt. II
We're hearing that a lot these days, but we should stop and consider what that means, exactly.
The "quickie" Anthrax test kits have an 80% false positive rate. Only a "national reference lab" has the equipment to do a real "quickie" test.
Rapid diagnostic tests for diagnosing anthrax, such as enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for protective antigen and polymerase chain reaction, are available only at national reference laboratories.
All other tests require a 72 hour culture, and are therefore not "quick".
This comes from JAMA, Anthrax as a Biological Weapon
But it's been helpful BS, hasn't it? Maybe the feds are the ones who instigated the rumors that perhaps it home-grown. With that rumor in play, our government gets some free time before we are compelled to retaliate, and we get a free pass on having to include Saddam in our attack.
Think back......for the last few years all we've heard was the military is "not prepared...shortage of parts...out of date delivery systems... cannibalizing airplanes to fly missions...not enough ammo, etc." All that was true, it was still true on Sept 11. I think the theory about home-grown terrorists was intentionally put "out there" to give us some time to add to our arsenal, to justify why we didn't act sooner, and explain why Saddam wasn't automatically included in our retaliation.
They did broaden the description of possible domestic terrorists in later comments. Including the possibility of wiccans in the one on Halloween. I appreciate the subtle humor in that one . . warning us that perhaps we should take it all with a grain of salt? For the reasons described above.
The Clinton era stacked the deck of Federal employees with those who are paranoid o f "Bush Country"
Even registered republican, church going, boy scouts in the intelligence community are looking for the white, Christian boogeyman. Y2K doomsday scenarios detailing a "militia' revolt in the US is being circulated still to this day as the most likely event to watch for.
Saddam and friends know something by observation that only a few have grasped in the U.S.. THey have the privilege of a viewing the big picture from afar - they are not bombarded by nightly news broadcasts twisting, slanting and perverting facts to fit political agendas.
The truth they are standing on is this - The only way North America can fall is through internal civil war. Sending anthrax to liberals is a smart opening gambit in the chess war of nerves. Those who feel estranged from middle america and the grass roots include the federal government employee establishment and liberals on both coasts.
The man thinks he's something akin to "Buffy the Conservative Slayer". If you've seen him on the talk shows you'll already know what I mean.
He's honked-off about the fact that his 15 minutes of fame happened years ago...may as well have been on another planet 'cause he no longer receives any glory from it.
I'm afraid it has gotten to the point where to get the publicity his ego needs he will have to manufacture a story that brings down the Republican Party or something that big. Anything short of that means he will have to continue running around reciting the "Chant of the Lost Liberal". (chant: "Gore really won")
It sure did pop up out of nowhere. Been stunning to watch one reporter after the next on TV putting this line out without one single fact. You may be right, we need time to build up and this might be agitprop. I wish they had picked another target however. Like the House progressive caucus.
The place where the car was found is just a couple of blocks, by the way, from the Defense Mapping Agency. In this Mapquest aerial photo, the place where the car was found is in the center, and the Defense Mapping Agency is the complex at the bottom center.
