A friend of mine acquired a Chinese girlfriend. He wanted to write her a love powm in Chinese, but he didn't know any chinese, so he got an English-to-Chinese dictionary.

One of the emotions he wished to express was, "My heart is open."

What he said was, "The bleeding organs within my chest cavity are open for business."

So romantic.

Yeah, he got the girl.

As I get older, I learn more and more to appreciate such sentiment. Although not quite as emphatic, I think there was a number in the score of South Pacific (1949, Richard Rodgers & Oscar Hammerstein) that was eloquent in its own way.
