True libertarians should work within the GOP.

The libertarians have two choices. 1)Work within the party and get elected (example: Ron Paul, Gary Johnson) 2)Bolt the GOP and wander the political desserts (example: various politicans that you never heard of because they get 1.5% of the vote.)

Thanks a lot Libertarians for electing a Liberal for Lt.Gov of VA.

I seriously doubt if the Reams voters would have voted for Katzen if it was just a two way race.

I guess they were enough of an entity to help beat Katzen.
Does the Lt. Gov. have much power in a state where he is elected? In our state, the office is held by the speaker of the Senate, and means very little other than to denote the order of succession.

I think enough would have. Instead we get the claptrap from Brady Campaign and the MMM gloating.

Why the GOP won't take the gloves off and deal with the left is beyond me. Then again, they cannot keep a back-stabber like John Warner in line.

Choice #3. Make the Pubbies realize that they are alienating enough votes to make a difference. A choice between two evils is no choice. I respect that they voted their concience.

To All:
libertarian have cost the GOP 2 house seats in 2000, 1 senate seat in 1998 and 1 senate seat in 2000.
In 2001 , thanks for nothing for defeating katzen.
I hope Kaine takes all the libertarians guns!

No, the Libertarian candidate for Governor did not poll enough to make a difference in the Governor's race.

Yeah, that's what John Warner said as he plunged the dagger into the back of Mike Farris in 1993 and Ollie North in 1994. I'm sick of the RINOs and the "my way or the highway" types.

If people want to beat the left, I'll help them if they help me. It's now a two-way street as far as I care. If you don't care enough about beating the left to help me out, then I'm not helping you out.

"Either you're with us, or you're with them."
George W. Bush has it right in more ways than one.

We would still be in the majority in the senate if it wasn't for the LIBERALtarians.

I still say W could have made difference in VA.
We could have won the lt.Gov race and maybe Governor's race, after all Earley lost by 5% not 6-13% !

True libertarians should work within the GOP.

If republicans were not closeted liberals and not for big governemnt then they would never have to worry about things like this. We took another seat from the GOP and a few more of these and republicans will have to start working for smaller government and more freedom or lose more seats.

Sorry,

errata: LIBERTARIANS ELECT LT. GOVERNOR

Sorry for having offended your sensitivities. I may have posted in error. At least I didn't vote in error. Please accept my humble self-correction.
