No U.S. Flag but Dildos OK in the Boulder Public Library
KHOW Radio, Peter Boyles Show
Posted on 11/07/2001 6:04:55 AM PST by samuel_adams_us
The director of the Boulder County Public Library in Boulder Colorado said no United States can be Displayed in the Boulder Public Library because it would ruin their neutral objectivity. This morning on KHOW, Peter Boyles Show, a member of the media found 21 dildos hanging in an exhibit in the front of library at the 9th and Canyon entrance. Apparently it is not okay to fly the flag in Boulder but it is perfectly okay to display sexual toys in full public view.
Peter Boyles can be contacted at http://www.khow.com/email.html#Peter http://www.khow.com/shows/boyles.html
and the Boulder Public Library can be contacted @ feedback@boulder.lib.co.us

There's a joke here somewhere, I just haven't had my coffee yet...

Actually this is real! It's on the radio now!

BTW, it should say no United States Flag can be displayed, sorry about that.

please let this all be a joke. Don't libraries receive federal funds somewhere along the line?

Pull all their public funding, wouldn't want that U.S. currency to ruin their neutral objectivity

Oh, I thought this was about the Boulder police.

No joke, listen to 630 AM KHOW right now or go to their web site and call Peter Boyles.

How absolutely absurd!! But, unfortunately, how absolutely typical. Any and all public funding should be halted immediately! If they can't display our country's flag, they don't need it's money.

It will be interesting to see the pictures that reporter from KHCA got on his digital camera. The guy that Peter had reporting on scene via cell phone was a riot. How about that woman climbing through the shrubs to get a peak through the window? I would assume that a few folks will be lined up at 9 this morning with cameras in hand to get a closer look. The plot thickens.

I wonder if accepting United States federal funding interferes with their neutral objectivity...It's scary to think about the type of people who are in control of our schools, and therefore have control of our children's minds.

A dildo
exhibit??? What the EFF is up with that? Is some whacked out womyn's studies group trying to provide a visual display of the dildo's storied history or something?
"Now here on the left, we have the Cro Magnon dildo, which you can see is nothing but the femur of a mastodon. Crude, but effective. On the right we have a continental dildo from the Middle Ages---watch out sonny, the edges are sharp on that thing . . ."

He isn't. He's pointing out the contradiction in the librarian's position. The flag would be offensive to some, but 21 dildos, along with other sexual paraphernalia, in various colors and adorned with crocheted caps should offend no one.

What do you expect from government-run book rental stores?
