President Bush toured the U.S. Treasury Department's Financial Criminal Enforcement Center in Vienna, Virginia today (and pretty much gave FRlurker a heart attack). While there, Bush revealed that the US is tightening its choke hold on Bin Laden's financial assets as U.S. agents raided financial groups around the nation suspected of funding Bin Laden terrorist network. The President also welcome Britain's Prime minister Tony Blair, as both confidently asserted that we will win the war on terrorism.
First Lady Laura Bush spoke at Bertie Backus Middle School in Washington where she took part in a ceremony honoring victims of American Airlines Flight 77 that crashed into the Pentagon Sept. 11. Three students and three teachers from the school died in the crash. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!
QUOTE OF THE DAY: We know that we're fighting evil. And the American people are patient. They've heard the call. And tomorrow night I'm going to put out an address that reminds the nation that we're truly a great nation, that we've responded in ways that the enemy could never have imagined. And I'm so proud of the patience and steadfast nature of our people.
Congrats to FRLurker for her big day..
This is Michelle's husband, Thomas Heidenberger...
This brave young lady spoke about her friend, Asia Cottom, who died in the Pentagon crash.
Thanks again, rintense!!!! Just saw the Tony Blair press conference on Cspan. The President and Prime Minister were awesome!
Everybody go to FRlurker's post. It's wonderful!!!!!
The raids were done without any leaks, indicating that the Bush people have found those who are trustworthy and are keeping them together on the same team.
The raids integrated INS, FBI, CIA, Secret Service, other Treasury groups, Customs, and local police; that means that the government is ORGANIZED.
In addition, raids in 9 foreign countries were conducted at the same time, which indicates that secrets could be kept overseas...also an acccomplishment.
The raids included places in the United Arab Emirates...a coup in foreign policy of immense proportions.
Finally, these raids put a crimp not only in money transfers, but in the communications network of al Quaeda...which is a BIG DEAL.
You will all notice that O'Neill hasn't been much in the news. In fact, I saw a press report which said he was in disfavor. Mr. O'Neill has been very, very busy, which is a good thing. When people in this administration are not in the news, they are likely even busier than those who are. That is my helpful tip for the week.
Thanks for the pictures, rintense! I LOVED FRlurker's post!!
