Congresswoman Criticized for Speaking at Homosexual Conference

Capitol Hill (CNSNews.com) - A pro-family group is criticizing an openly homosexual congresswoman for her role as a keynote speaker at a homosexual task force convention.

Rep. Tammy Baldwin (D-Wis.) is scheduled to speak Friday at the 14th annual convention of the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force (NGLTF) in Milwaukee.

Sandy Rios, president of Concerned Women for America (CWA), says it is inappropriate for a member of Congress to use their position to promote immoral, and possibly illegal behavior.

"Her (Baldwin) speaking at this conference would be just like Gary Condit attending a conference where he spoke on 'How to Cheat on Your Wife,' or 'Managing Multiple Affairs,'" Rios said. "There is no difference. He would be flaunting his unacceptable sexual behavior, and that's what she's doing."

An NGLTF conference brochure describes the congresswoman as, "a true role model and shero (sic) for us all." An online biography of Baldwin, whose U.S. House of Representatives website also features a link entitled "LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual, Trans-gendered) Page," identifies her as "the first openly gay person to be elected to Congress as a non-incumbent."

Her keynote address Friday morning was sandwiched between sessions such as:

- "The Growing SM-Leather-Fetish Movement"
- "Poly Wants More Than One Cracker: Polyamory (sic) in a Culture Dependent Upon Coupledom (sic)" ("Polyamory" refers to multiple, non-exclusive, sexual relationships.)
- "Your Eyes Say Yes But the Law Says No"

The brochure says the last session, "...using audience volunteers and role-playing, will analyze the laws regulating conduct such as queer sex, BDSM (Bondage, Discipline, Sadism, Masochism), rape, intergenerational sex (pedophilia), marital and extra-marital sex." The term "intergenerational sex" was first used by the North American Man-Boy Love Association, a group that advocates legalization of sexual contact between adult and underage males.

Baldwin reportedly ridiculed CWA for their opposition to her appearance, according to pro-family monitors who attended her presentation. Calls to Baldwin's Capitol Hill and district offices were not returned, however a spokeswoman for NGLTF confirmed the report.

"She read portions of their (CWA) press release aloud," said NGLTF spokeswoman Betsy Gressler. "Their use of language and the way that they described the conference was quite inaccurate and was very amusing to the people who attended the conference."

The CWA press release commented on material taken from the conference brochure, with definitions for unusual terms and fabricated words such as "polyamory." The descriptions of the controversial sessions were quoted verbatim by CWA.

Gressler said Baldwin's remarks were "very, very well received" and that conference attendees were "very grateful" for her willingness to speak to them.

Peter LeBarbera, a senior policy analyst with CWA's Culture and Family Institute, stands by his group's press release. He says he not surprised, however, by the attack.

"It's pretty sad that a congresswoman not only appears in something like this, but also actually ridicules those who are raising concerns about pedophilia and young people being exposed to cross-dressing and sado-masochism," LeBarbera said.

Rios believes homosexual activists hope Baldwin's appearance will help gain broader approval for these types of sexual behavior choices.

"The more they can get people to discuss these things that most of us would rather not even think about, the more legitimized they feel because it dulls people's sensitivities," Rios said. "If they can have people at highest levels of government involved and speaking on these things, naturally, it makes them feel, somehow, that these things are acceptable and justified."

KEYWORDS:
She's a "shero" to her gay pals....and apparently to the people of Wisconsin. By the way, isn't it in Wisconsin that people are objecting to "God Bless America" on the public Christmas tree?

You watch, Baldwin's next act will be to remove the last syllable of the state she represents since no one there seems to have any idea what it means.

I know, I know, I sound terribly red-neck.

She's gotta be thinking about doing to those two girls what that guy is doing to that bass just behind her.

(Did I really say that?)

I'd like to have an expert analyze this photo and tell me what the subliminal message is. That bass player in the background is just TOO obvious a symbol for some message that she endorses and is trying to get out. (OK, so I'm paranoid.)

I read your reply while the pic was still just starting to load, and I thought, 'there's a guy doing something indecent to a FISH?' LOL.

From The Overhauling of Straight America:

"...A large-scale media campaign will be required in order to change the image of gays in America. And any campaign to accomplish this turnaround should do six things.

(1) Talk about gays and gayness as loudly and as often as possible. The principle behind this advice is simple: almost any behavior begins to look normal if you are exposed to enough of it at close quarters and among your acquaintances. The acceptability of the new behavior will ultimately hinge on the number of one’s fellows doing it or accepting it. One may be offended by its novelty at first -- many, in times past, were momentarily scandalized by “streaking,” eating goldfish, and premarital sex. But as long as Joe Sixpack feels little pressure to perform likewise, and as long as the behavior in question presents little threat to his physical and financial security, he soon gets used to it and life goes on. The skeptic may still shake his head and think “people are crazy these days,” but over time his objections are likely to become more reflective, more philosophical, less emotional.

The way to benumb raw sensitivities about homosexuality is to have a lot of people talk a great deal about the subject in a neutral or supportive way. Open and frank talk makes the subject seem less furtive, alien, and sinful, more above-board. Constant talk builds the impression that the public opinion is at least divided on the subject, and that a sizable segment accepts or even practices homosexuality. Even rancorous debates between opponents and defenders serve the purpose of desensitization so long as “respectable” gays are front and center to make their own pitch. The main thing is to talk about gayness until the issue becomes thoroughly tiresome.

And when we say talk about homosexuality, we mean just that. In the early stages of any campaign to reach straight America, the masses should not be shocked and repelled by premature exposure to homosexual behavior itself. Instead, the imagery of sex should be downplayed and gay rights should be reduced to an abstract social question as much as possible. First let the camel get his nose inside the tent -- and only later his unsightly derriere!..."

"...In no time, a skillful and clever media campaign could have the gay community looking like the veritable fairy godmother to Western Civilization..."

"...do you think that Tammy Baldwin is:

* unaware of the growing pedophilia ("intergenerational love") movement within the NGLTF"

Since she is openly homosexual, she is well aware growing pedophilia ("intergenerational love") movement in the homosexual community.

" * in disagreement with the pedophiles but not willing to speak out against their agenda, or"

Most homosexuals won't condemn anything homosexual.

" * aware and in agreement with the pedophiles, but not willing to speak out in support of them?"

By attending this conference, she is showing her support for them.

Tammy Baldwin was elected by the idiots from Madison and as I have stated before....Madison = 58 square miles of liberalism surrounded by reality. I realize the screwballs elected by this state leave much to be desired but we conservatives keep trying. The teachers unions have a tight grip on the state....if we could only get rid of them, we might have a chance
