I don't know of any truly reliable master list, but you can try <a href="http://www.wtclocator.org/>here</A>.

To my understanding, that list is a tightly held secret. Last week O'reilly asked his guest, the head of the NY United Way, why they were so slow in getting aid to the families of victims. The guy answered that one big problem was that the list of victims was not available. I can think of no legitimate reason for it being held secret, two months after the WTC murders. Can you?

This link will take you to pages which feature pictures and names of the missing at the WTC -- it's not a searchable list, but at least it's something.

Thank you for the link; I didn't find the person I was searching for so that's good -- but I saw the faces of all the others and it makes me crazy to see all these people lost because of NO REASON!

The Associated Press has been printing and reprinting a continually revised list every few days.

It may be a very long time before we can say that we absolutely know every person who perished in the WTC ... there were a lot of visitors at power breakfast at the Windows on the World restaurant that morning, there were visitors (even before 9 am) to some of the offices, there were shoppers in the stores on the ground level and basement, and there were people who were inside the WTC killed by falling debris and some (civilians - not firemen nor cops) who may have rushed into the building to try to save someone.

It is very possible that a good many people were killed whose names will not be known because they lived alone (or died together with their spouse in the WTC) and nobody misses them (at least not enough to mention their names to the authorities trying to identify the dead).

I meant to say there were some people outside the WTC who were killed (and buried) by falling debris, and even by falling bodies. Also presumably some tourists and visitors who weren't known to anyone else (or at least not to anyone who bothered to notify authorities) to be visiting NYC or the WTC that day.

I got a copy of the Associated Press list using Lexis-Nexis newsclipping service.

This thread started with someone saying that he hadn't gotten an e-mail from a friend since the Sept. 11th attack. A friend of mine told me over the phone that he watched the towers collapse - from the safety of the shore of Staten Island, but that he cannot communicate via the internet anymore because his ISP was wired via the World Trade Center, so he's OK but he can't use e-mail.

The list, when printed, covers something like 15 pages in 9 point type and must have at least 2000 names (considering that more than 4000 are considered missing or known to be dead). I really cannot post anything so bulky.

Have you a web site where you can post it? If not, throw in onto usenet, and I can pick it off there. Let me know which newsgroup you post it to.
