North Korea Making War Threats
Link to NewsMax's article
North Korea's communist news agency is demanding the U.S. and South Korea immediately suspend military exercises, or face war.
The agency reported that "the U.S. imperialists and the South Korean army staged a large-scale joint coastal landing exercise, the first of its kind, in the western sector of the front. This clearly indicates what a dangerous phase their moves for a war against the DPRK [Democratic People's Republic of Korea] have reached."
In the wake of Sept. 11, the U.S. has beefed up its military presence in South Korea, including sending additional fighter aircraft.
The Bush administration has also vetoed moves by the South Korean government to open up economic ties with their communist northern neighbor.
The leader of North Korea, Kim Jong-il, is believed to be a highly unstable individual.
The recent statements by his news agency seem to be an escalation of rhetoric.
The report added ominously that North Korea "can never remain a passive onlooker to this anti-DPRK war exercise," adding it would "wipe out the aggressors to the last man if they dare invade it."
In a separate report, the news agency also noted the warm relations it has with Russia.
The report stated: "Gifts leader Kim Jong Il received during his historic visit to the Russian Federation were displayed at the International Friendship Exhibition. He received precious gifts from President V.V. Putin and [the] Russian people in different parts of Russia during his visit from July 26 to August 18.
"On display in the exhibition hall are some of the 300 gifts Kim Jong Il received from President Putin, chief delegates of the president to the federal districts, ministries and their officials, administrators of regions and cities he stayed [in] or passed [through] and [the] Russian people."
Editor's Note: In a special briefing to NewsMax readers, Gen. Jack Singlaub, former chief of staff, U.S. Forces Korea, warned in September of the North Korean threat. Hear the briefing, CLICK HERE

Maybe we need to move N. Korea to the top of the 'hit list', we have been putting up with them way to long. This outfit in N. Korea needs a serious attitude adjustment.

Don't these guys get cable?

We could just start dropping food rations, then have our guys walk in. Something tells me that the people by and large will pass up Communist idealogy for a little food. Especially when you haven't eaten in days.

They don't, couldn't pay the bills.

Escalating rhetoric? What were the writers of this article smoking? It is not possible for the nutjobs in North Korea to "escalate their rhetoric". They have been baying at the moon daily for 48 years, saying exactly the same thing. If this is news, how about "moon rises - film at 11!"

They may be next but I realy don't want to see a war on the Korean peninsula.I spent 2 years there and soule is a beautiful city, many very old places to visit. Most South Koreans are very loyal to the US but, alas, the universities are much like ours, liberal claptrap from liberal communist.

I think we are in the opening act of World War III. We are in the same phase now as the time in between Archduke Franz Ferdinand's assassination and the opening of all-out hostilities. That time period was about three months. Like that BTO song from the 70's goes, you ain't seen n-n-nothing yet.
Take care and God Bless!

Isn't NewsMax.com the organization that uses DEBKA as a source?
To: Amerigomag
That would be worldnetdaily.
To: Amerigomag
I think it's World Net Daily. Still, WND has some good stuff.
As for Debka, even a broken clock is right twice a day.
To: Mr. Morals
North Korea will self-implode if we just leave it alone long enough, just like the SU. We have more important targets to worry about like Iraq and Syria.
