WASHINGTON (AP) - Hustler magazine publisher Larry Flynt has sued the Defense Department for the right to send reporters to the front lines in Afghanistan. Flynt asked a federal court in Washington to force the agency to loosen its restrictions on media coverage.
"The actions of American soldiers on the ground in Afghanistan are of great interest and concern to American citizens," his attorney said in the lawsuit filed last week.
The Pentagon turned down Flynt's request to allow writers to accompany troops on combat missions because of "the highly dangerous and unique nature" of the operations, according to a letter Flynt said he received this month from Pentagon spokeswoman Victoria Clarke.

Yes, let Larry go himself and interview some Taliban on their opinion of Hustler magazine. Maybe the world record for speed in stoning someone to death will get set.

Couldn't the court answer his question immediately? I know the lawyers are parasites, but the judges ...

I think reporters could be very useful on the battlefield, especially in Afghanistan--I hear the place is riddled with minefields.

Methinks Larry might be thinking more about the goats and chickens than
about the troops or maybe he's got his eye on a camel.

"The SAFETY of American soldiers on the ground in Afghanistan are of great interest and concern to American citizens" we don't need any journalists (and I use that word very loosely here) jeopardizing our troops for a story.
They make it all up anyway. They can do it from here. You think he was the THUMB SUCKER Rummy was talking about today?

I don't think the Taliban would stone him. They just aren't like that.
They might do that thing where they bury you up to your neck and then use a bulldozer to push a brick wall over on top of you. But I just don't see the stoning.

Hope he flushed his catheter and emptied the bag hanging on the side of his wheelchair, too. Wouldn't want any yeller stains on his lawyers' shoes.
