November 21, 2001 -- American media organizations lay claim to a standard of pure "objectivity" that sounds fine in theory, but is all too rarely found in nature.

"We all know that one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter. . . We're trying to treat everyone on a level playing field, however tragic it's been and however awful and cataclysmic for the American people and people around the world."

Hmmm, I doubt if Reuters does get it. I think they're still calling them "freedom fighters".

Question: Are journalists a fair military target?

Answer: I have no opinion on that.

Afterall we must remain objective, right?

"Hmmm, I doubt if Reuters does get it."

Did you notice how FOX changed "Hunt for the Terrorists" to "Hunt for the Killers"
Maybe FOX "forgot" we are at war and thinks 9/11 is just a crime that needs to be solved.

I dislike this kind of thing for the simple reason that it gives the media the chance, once again, to be the stars of their own show.

Never a story about working people who keep every country going, getting the sh!t end of the stick.

Just once I'd like to see a headline reading:

Four Productive People... (Win, lose, live, die, whatever)

"But how often are war correspondents summarily executed?"....Ah. I guess "Freedom Fighters" do that all the time. Somehow I think the irony will be lost on them.

I don't know, I'm torn on that myself. I tend to call 9-11 a massacre because I don't want it to be called a tragedy. There's something ugly about the word "killers", but you're right, they need to be called what they are, terrorists.

I think Fox is just trying to define the stage of the war. It is not like calling terrorist killers is a compliment. Fox atleast isn't calling American military killers like some 'objective' journalists.

The Geneva Convention give journalists the same protection as combatants. Killing them is a war crime.

Al-Jazeera has been Missing in Action since its offices across the street from the Ministry of Vice and Virtue inexplicably went boom last week.

"I think Fox is just trying to define the stage of the war."

They started calling them killers instead of terrorists the first week of October.

I really don't see your point though. Fox is one of the few media outlets that hasn't done anti-American reporting based on some newly found 'objectivity' requiirment.

On 10/12 I saw FOX NEWS (via Sky News) showing video of Afgan children in hospital
because Taliban says we bombed them. Also video of child being buried because we caused child to starve to death.
And just how many times did anyone see FOX show the wounded or dead USA children of Sept 11th????
Remember what the media did during Viet Nam, showing children being bombed.
Remember the pic of the little girl running and screaming.
How long before the media feed the frenzy of the peaceniks and our service people are again called baby killer?
How long before the media and peaceniks call President Bush a murderer?
If Fox is doing this type of propaganda AGAINST the USA Lord only knows what the other networks are doing.

Here is a real eye opener

"I have seen nothing wrong with Fox's reporting."

When I saw the Taliban propaganda about our troops killing children I saw plenty wrong.
They could have very easily choosen NOT to show it at all.
