120,000 Petition Bush: Bring the Clintons to Justice

With Hillary Clinton installed in the U.S. Senate and Bill Clinton still capturing headlines while quietly running the Democratic Party, it's plain America has yet to get past its decade of sleaze.

And while most who'd like to move on hope ignoring Bill and Hillary will do the trick, a hearty minority say America suffers from a case of justice-interruptus - that the former first couple were demonstrably guilty of crimes but timid prosecutors failed to do their jobs.

Nearly 120,000 such citizens have petitioned the Bush administration to do something about this lingering affront to the nation's judicial system, in an effort sponsored by the Washington, D.C.-based legal watchdog group Judicial Watch.

"59,535 petitions were sent to Attorney General John Ashcroft demanding that he hold Bill and Hillary Clinton accountable using the evidence available to him from Democratic donor Peter Paul," Judicial Watch announced in a press release Tuesday.

Paul is the Hollywood producer who contributed over $2 million to Mrs. Clinton's New York Senate campaign -- most of which she failed to report to the Federal Election Commission as required by law.

"26,103 petitions were also sent to President Bush demanding that he fire IRS Commissioner Charles Rossotti, a Clinton holdover responsible for illegal audits against conservatives organizations and other perceived adversaries of Bill and Hillary Clinton," said Judicial Watch.

That kind of abuse of the IRS was considered one of the most egregious crimes in the history of the presidency when Richard Nixon merely tried to do it in the 1970's. 20 years later the Clintons got away with it in spades, a fact that still has many civil libertarians shaking their heads in disbelief.

And finally, says Judicial Watch, "33,580 petitions were sent to President Bush requesting that he rehire Linda Shenwick, the State Department official who single-handedly uncovered numerous instances of waste, fraud, and abuse of authority at the United Nations and State Department."

Shenwick was fired just one day after last year's presidential election, a move she believes was in retaliation for her congressional testimony about the U.N.'s massive misuse of U.S. tax dollars.

"The underlying basis of conservatism is respect for ethics and the rule of law," Judicial Watch Chairman Larry Klayman told NewsMax.com Wednesday.

"The president and the attorney general should understand that they were elected to carry out that mandate."

When the phone don't ring, you'll know it's Ashcroft.

Bush seems peculiarly selective about whom he brings to justice... He betrays his country by obstructing justice for Clinton.

I understand your frustration. If you have information on the clintoons that Bush doesn't have, please make sure to give it to him, ok?

I don't know why the subpoena hasn't been acted upon, etc., but I have a hard time thinking that President Bush is trying to "build upon the clintoon lagacy". . .

What makes you think that is creating the delays?

The terrorist attacks against the United States are -- to some degree -- a result of Clinton revulsion felt by foreigners.

You mean lack of information? I don't know WHAT is causing the problem not going forward with this. It MAY be politics, but I don't know.

I have just learned that when you UNDERestimate George Bush, it's a mistake.

Were you familiar with the Subpoena? If so, what is your thinking on this? I drove myself nuts trying to figure out the Subpoena thing. I had almost resolved that it was a "Phantom" subpoena - that didn't really exist since it didn't get answered and isn't being followed up with some sort of action. . .

What makes you think I don't respect his ability to make decisions?

Were you familiar with the Subpoena?...

Yes. Bush realizes the obvious guilt yet he must decide where to concentrate his efforts at this time. If the party's were reversed, and Clinton had been conservative..., obviously today's focus would not be on the nation's best interest, but in the DNC political opportunities.

Clinton's national ratings drop every week. Hillary has been in hiding, unable to attend even the gala New York public events. The wolves are crying louder and louder.

My comment about underestimating President Bush was in reference to my reply in Post #6 to another person actually. Check that. FReeper LG's comment Bush seems peculiarly selective about whom he brings to justice... He betrays his country by obstructing justice for Clinton.

Betraying the country is what I was objecting to regarding UNDERestimating President Bush, not any comment you made. . .

I think Bush is likely sincere about "moving on", which I find both admirable and unfortunate, IMHO. Admirable because I think he has the country's best interest at heart. Unfortunate because I think that clintoon's shenanigans should be fully exposed and prosecuted with full consequences to send a message to any future ArseHoles that clintoon style monkey business/bullsh** will NOT be tolerated! Again, that is IMHO. . .

It might be that Bush will release them to Justice when the timing is right...such as during the election time! Timing is everything!
