HIRE A LIAR

AL GORE'S NEW JOB

By: Ed Henry

Unlike Fox News twenty four-hour-a-day single subject coverage of the war, CNN has an occasional bit of news about other things happening in the world.

Wednesday, November 21, "Mornings with Paula Zahn" had Leon Harris interviewing Rich Hollander, the CEO of Metropolitan West Financial of Los Angeles. His company just hired Al Gore.

Well, I guess I was wrong about things again. Somehow, I thought Al Gore would end up as a yacht broker in South Florida strong-arming his buddies into buying cruisers for various business and pleasure jaunts off shore. Maybe there wasn't enough money in it for Al.

Mr. Hollander claims that his company hired the former vice president because they've always been focused on "bringing in the very intelligent people with a high level of integrity."

No, he was not talking about someone else. He was talking about Al Gore. The same man who ran around with Bill Clinton telling everyone that they were paying down the national debt.

The same man who headed up the task force on airport security after the World Trade Center had been bombed the first time. The same man who was in charge of Citizenship USA (CUSA) during the presidential campaign of 1996.

An organization that pressured the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) to allow thousands of appreciative likely new voters to get their citizenship without background checks or even language requirements. Concentration was on key states like California, Florida, Illinois, New York, New Jersey and Texas, the states having both many immigrants and a bulk of the electoral votes.

This is also the same man who for years told us that his administration was saving Social Security by building up its trust fund, extending the life of Social Security to at least 2037 or thereabouts. A fund we now know holds no money, no viable assets at all, and nothing but debt that results in double taxation. The same workers who paid surplus taxes in the first place are now expected to replace the amounts Al's government stole, plus interest.

If that's the kind of integrity Mr. Hollander wants for his investment firm, he's welcome to it.

Actually, he co-headed the task force with Newt Gingrich. Mr. Bush decided that the report didn't agree with him, sh*tcanned it, and went merrily along his way. Al Gore is spud enough without distorting his record. That's a lib tactic, and you know it.

As PJ O'Rourke said, "Having a Social Security Trust Fund is exactly the same as NOT having a Social Security Trust Fund!".

Professor Gore, from California, Columbia University, and the tobacco plantations of Tennessee, might be interested in your opinion of him.

I don't like him. I think he moonlights as a moderator.

Hmmm -- !

Might your opinion of esteemed Professor Gore improve were he to shave off his beard?

Afterall, he DID become a Professor at Columbia University, having earned only a Bachelor's Degree during his august academic career!
