In my experience as an MP in a joint environment, it was far harder to arrest a marine than it was a soldier...
Go jar heads!!!! Give 'em hell!

It's a war. Good men are going to die. Count our blessings the numbers have been low. The biggest problem is the libs will now start beating the retreat drum...

Why don't you post the story instead of constantly spamming with Etherzone links? Gets pretty old.

The 101st and 82nd airborne? I posted an article yesterday that predicted they would be used at Kandahar. It also said the British airborne would be involved.

In what may be the first American battlefield death in Afghanistan , sources confirm an American contracted by the CIA (news - web sites) was killed during a prison revolt where hundreds of foreign Taliban captives also died. The deaths followed a Northern Alliance claim of control in Kunduz, which had been the last Taliban stronghold in northern Afghanistan.

Paras 'earmarked for role to topple Taliban'
Defence chiefs are understood to be finalising plans for British paras to fight alongside US troops against the Taliban.
Downing Street and the Ministry of Defence say there are no plans to involve UK soldiers at present.
US chiefs of staff believe a joint force of 25,000 is needed to defeat Taliban fighters massing in Kandahar. According to the Sunday Telegraph newspaper, they want the 2nd Battalion Parachute Regiment - known as 2 Para - to encircle the movement's spiritual home along with elite US troops from the 101st and 82nd Airborne Divisions.
While defence officials have talked down the scale of possible British involvement, the paras reportedly expect to do some "serious fighting".
Hardline Taliban commanders and Arabs members of Osama bin Laden's al Qaida network in the city are said to have taken their fighters' families hostage to prevent them surrendering.
A senior officer told the Sunday Telegraph they were "very tough and well co-ordinated. They will fight to the end".
He said paras, currently on 48-hour notice for deployment in Afghanistan, could "easily work with US forces", adding: "I know 2 Para are itching to go and this would make perfect sense. It just depends on the political will."
An MoD spokeswoman said the situation could change after Afghan leaders meet in Bonn on Tuesday to discuss the formation of an interim government.
She added: "There are no definite plans. We are looking at the situation day to day."

Keep in mind that the Afghan government and ALL the Northern Alliance generals have stated that NATO ground troops are not allowed to enter Afghanistan.
To understand this desperate move, using the last moments before their last window of oportunity (Kandahar) fells, keep in mind : like in Kosovo, the conspirators can't go back.
BTW, Nov 25, just a few hours before the marines deployment : If Taliban leader Mullah Mohammed Omar is captured as a result of a U.S. victory in the Afghan war, there's a chance he will be set free, America's top diplomat in the region admitted Nov. 25 (U.S. Ambassasdor Kenton Keith, spokesman for the Allied Coalition, in an interview with "Meet the Press" host Tim Russert).
Mullah Omar, the man that is hosting Bin Laden. This means they still need the services of this agent. It's obvious what services.

I just went to the ABC site and checked. The article there talks about the CIA person killed, but not the marines. I'm not saying that I don't believe the marines part, but he is correct about the CIA agent and that the info is from ABC.

Quitcherbitching am glad to have newsperson999 as a member of the underground Conservative press. BTW He is your neighbor. And he may be a great guy. I've no personal problem with him, but I get tired of stuff trying to drum up hits on another website.
Now that you mention it, though, I'm sounding like the POSTING POLICE, so I think I will retract and hush my mouth. If I don't like his links, I ain't gotta click 'em.
MM withdraws objection.
Over and out.

blam are the Marines on the ground? See post #9. I expect so. The opposition in the south does not have the stomach for fighting like the NA and no-one wants the NA in the south.
