more......CNN) -- U.S. warplanes launched a hastily arranged airstrike against a compound southeast of Kandahar after receiving intelligence reports that Taliban leader Mullah Mohammed Omar might be there, a senior Pentagon official told CNN. Sources said the pilot reported hitting the compound, but officials said they did not know if anyone on the ground was killed, or if Omar was there. Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld told reporters that U.S. planes attacked a "leadership compound," but would not elaborate. He said the United States was assessing the damage

Any possibility of bin Laden being at the same location?

cnn stated they had credible intelligence that taliban leader Mullah Omar was in this locationa nd called hastily arranged airstrikes If this is true then Allah's prophecy to him that he would be in power until his death would come true if he were killed. Since Allah is only a parrot god of Mohammed, or in this case Mullah Omar, his predictions most likely will not come true. So Omar is probably only injured if he was there in the first place...

At first...I was an armchair general...until I realized I was always wrong about everything.
For all we know, Omar is alive because we want him alive. Perhaps we are monitoring his communications, or it serves our purposes to let him live a bit longer for other reasons. The big guys with all of the intel seem to be making all of the right moves.

If BL was there too, then that really screws up the dead pool for me...
To: ElisabethInCincy
At least Omar's body was believed to be in the house.

Yes this does seem to be the case does it not. I find it truly perplexing after so many years of abject fed incompetence that they have been doing so well. I just can't understand it.
