President Bush had meetings today with Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon regarding the latest attacks in Israel. Bush strongly condemned that attacks and asked for Yasser Arafat to take immediate action to stop future ones. This evening, the President and First Lady attended the Kennedy Center Honors paying tribute to actress Julie Andrews, pianist Van Cliburn, music maestro Quincy Jones, actor Jack Nicholson and opera singer Luciano Pavarotti. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

QUOTE OF THE DAY: Now more than ever, Chairman Arafat and the Palestinian Authority must demonstrate through their actions, and not merely their words, their commitment to fight terror.

Since pictures can tell stories....I'd say it's time for us to be on our knees...

I'd guess sometime in the next month. They sang 'God Bless America'. Bet that gets edited out.

A bonus Sunday night thread. Thanks !
Our poor President, bad enough we have all of these problems for him to deal with, now Israel is in trouble after horrific terrorist attacks.
My prayers are with Israel tonight as well as President Bush and our military.

Wonderful pics....thanks. BTW note that Laura is now carrying Barney off Marine One....therefore our Commander in Chief can return the Marine salute unobstructed by that pooch! LOL
Dubya coming back to salute after putting Barney aboard on Friday, was so typical of his humility and respect for our military.

Post 6, picture 2. See the President put his hand on Ariel Sharon's elbow?
With all the troubles here at home, all the stress Dubya MUST be under, he found the time to meet with Ariel Sharon.
Not for a photo-op, either.
It's obvious that the Israeli Prime Minister is getting some comfort and reassurance from the 100% genuine George W. Bush.

Thanks, rintense.I'll keep an eye out for it.I'd sure like to hear Pavarotti sing "God Bless America",in fact,I'd like to hear him sing anything!

Did you two know that Julie Andrews is also a writer of children's adventure novels? My daughter's favorite was "The Last Of The Really Great Wangdoodles." She writes under a nom de plume - last name Edwards.
I'll be First Librarian Laura knows all about that!

She writes under a nom de plume - last name Edwards. It wouldn't surprise me that she'd use the last name Edwards - her husband is Blake Edwards!

Great pictures....again! I like Laura's dress. Nice to see them all out enjoying themselves.
