(20:40) Palestinians on Suicide Bomber: "We Are Proud Of Him"
NABLUS, West Bank The suicide bomber who blew himself up on an Egged bus in Haifa today was a 21-year-old plumber who had gotten engaged six weeks ago and was preparing for his wedding, his stunned father said.
Muhiy Habashi, 65, said he had no idea his son, Maher, had been recruited by the Islamic militant group Hamas. One of the assailant's younger brothers broke down in tears and had to be restrained while his mother sat in a room surrounded by grieving women, clinging to one of her four daughters.
Outside, Hamas members fired in the air in celebration.
Maher Habashi boarded a bus in Haifa around noon today, paid the fare of five shekels and within seconds set off the nail-studded explosives strapped to his body.
The blast killed Habashi and 15 bus passengers and bystanders, police said. About 40 people were wounded.
The elder Habashi, a municipal worker in Nablus, got word of his son's death after he returned home from evening prayers to join the family for the sundown meal that breaks the daily fast during the holy month of Ramadan.
Habashi was stunned as neighbors and friends came to congratulate him. "He got engaged one-and-a-half months ago and we were getting ready for his wedding," Habashi said, crying and holding on to relatives for support.
Hundreds of Palestinians filled Habashi's home and spilled out into the street, most coming to offer their congratulations and others, their sympathies.
"Everybody feels bad when they lose their son," said Habashi's cousin Adel, 45, a school teacher. "But we are proud of him, you should be proud of him," he said to Habashi.
Proof positive that there is but two sides: good and evil. You've just read about evil, and they're the palies.
When the Muslim takes the second, third and fourth wife, I wonder if the others are present? Maybe in the wedding party?
Meanwhile, a group called the Popular Army Vanguards, said to be affiliated with Fatah, claimed responsibility Monday for the roadside bomb attack on the IDF Chief of General Staff Lt.-Gen. Shaul Mofaz's convoy on Sunday evening near Beit Haggai in the Hebron Hills. One of the two bombs found at the site exploded near the first jeep of the convoy but caused no injuries. The second bomb was later defused by sappers. The IDF Spokesman said, sappers found three additional bombs at the site where Mofaz's convoy had passed Sunday night.
The ISA has recently revealed the Hamas terrorist cell which perpetrated the shooting attack during which IDF reserve officer Captain Eyal Sela was killed on 6 November. Members of the cell also planned to attack Defense Minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer at the entrance to the Kirya in Tel Aviv. A cell member admitted during questioning that the cell planned to gather information on the movements of Defense Minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer for the purpose of perpetrating an attack on him at his arrival at the Kirya in Tel Aviv.

As if that wasn't enough...now THIS!!! The United States, on September 11, 2001, could never have imagined in its wildest dreams the lengths to which this plague on humanity would go. We saw it HERE, but refuse to see it in Israel. I do NOT understand. Would we offer Bin Laden California to stop the terror?
Never underestimate the voters in CA! Provide a home to TIME's Man of the Year as a peace plan? Bezerkly's fondest desire.
Seriously, your point is well taken and I agree! But take heart, events are turning quickly. Israel will declare war on Palie Authority, and I've just read so many news articles that state in no uncertain terms, that President Bush did NOT even attempt to lobby Sharon for a "soft" retaliation! Instead, our magnificent President Bush gave Sharon our green light! No surprise to me.
.
Only thus will their family and communities reject the idea of the human bombs.
