the idea is of course, that one of the reasons they get paid under the table is because they are illegal and dont want there to be documentation of their existence. Likewise, they are able to be exploited -- they complain, they get deported. workers who can be exploited are against the interests of workers who can't -- such as those who are here legally or in unions.

It should be pretty evident that amnesty for these illegals will threaten the very jobs of many AFL-CIO members across the country. Additionally, the camels' nose is now also in the tent due to the relaxation of the restrictions on Mexican trucks into the USA.
