Iran condemns Israeli strikes, urges swift action TEHRAN, Iran (Reuters) - Iran condemned Israeli missile strikes on Palestinian targets Monday and called on the global community to move quickly to prevent what it called Israeli "terrorist" acts, the official news agency IRNA said.
It quoted Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamid Reza Asefi as saying Israel was taking advantage of the U.S.-led war in Afghanistan to "impose its iron-fist policy in the occupied territories."
He warned that "any Israeli atrocities" would only fan Muslim anger and contribute to the crisis in the region.
"Ignoring the Israeli intransigence has only encouraged the Zionist regime to increase its terrorist acts," Asefi said.
Israel launched air strikes on Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat's helicopter compound in the Gaza Strip and on the West Bank city of Jenin in retaliation for Palestinian suicide bombings that killed 25 people in Israel over the weekend.
The surge of violence threatened to wreck a U.S. peace drive intended to help bolster Arab support for the U.S.-led anti-terror campaign in Afghanistan following the September 11 attacks on the United States.
Iran does not recognize the Jewish state and calls for its destruction.

Further proof of muslim moral idiocy - trying to defend against murderous attacks on innocents is an "atrocity."

Iran funds a large number of the terrorist factions attacking Israel.
I wonder what swift action they mean, and whom they think it about to employ it.

Would this be the same Iran that our new buddies, the Russians, are providing with arms, a nuclear reactor and missiles with which to defend it?

prevent what it called Israeli "terrorist" acts, the official news agency IRNA said. So the Iraqi's have thrown down the gauntlet.
Haven't they been watching what has happened in Aphganistan?

He warned that "any Israeli atrocities" would only fan Muslim anger and contribute to the crisis in the region. Don't bet on it.
