Surely the prohibition against the frustration of the marital act bears an intimate spiritual relationship to the transparent honesty and openness characterising Christ's relationship to his spouse, the Church. Even more, the mandated purity of the relationship is spiritually analogous to the perfect accord and conformity of the Trinity, and of the perfect union with this Trinity, to which we are called.
