[history]
In all worlds but the liberal one, adult choices have adult consequences.
An American Talib from Marin County? Named for John Lennon; the son of a Catholic father and a mother who embraced Buddhism; a graduate of an alternative high school who converted to Islam after reading "The Autobiography of Malcolm X"?

I take off to one of those people, and to the other - Bye Bye Sonovabitch.
I think it's obvious who is deserving of each honor.

There's something cosmically wrong when Spann died and Walker lived.

Bumping this.

Good find, Pokey. I hadn't thought of that angle, one man thinking of America, the other only of himself.

Remember right after the election how we all talked about the differences between the red zone and the blue zones? This is a prime example. Mike was the product of the red zone and John Walker is the product of the blue zone.
Two different Americas. Hopefully, most of the people in the blue zone woke up on 9-11, watching Walkers father and mother lets us know that not everyone did.

Great Article - I especially loved this quote:
"Isn't it ironic that the same folks who argue that a 13-year-old girl is perfectly capable of making her own decisions about sex now tell us that a 20-year-old man is incapable of distinguishing between, say, Taliban theocracy and American democracy?"

Two different Americas. How about we smear the American haters as being members of "The John Walker Society"?
(Hey...might be good to set up a website just for him..on the lines of the easily demonized John Birch Society)

Just goes to show you that Southern men of Anglo-Celtic desent are the whipping boys of the USA until there is a war to be fought. One of these days our loyalty is going to cease if things keep going like they are right now.

And this father of three became the first U.S. combat fatality when, as the BBC reported, he was "kicked, beaten and bitten to death" by the rioting prisoners"Islam means peace" NOOOOOOOOO they are animals that need to be put out of their misery..send them back to allah!
The author is correct..we speak out of both sides of our mouths on the ability to choose..Walker is an adult that made a choice, he did not want to be a US citizen..I wonder if they took pictures of the bites on that American hero..because I would not be surprised if some of them matched the traitor's dental records!

There's nothing I can add to this, except perhaps to say I'd love the opportunity to spend a little quality time alone with John Walker.

Today Andrew Sullivan called Walker a "red-diaper baby." He didn't explain the remark explicitly, but it seems to imply that Sullivan has heard that Walker's parents aren't just "liberal," as the Journal refers to them above, but members of the hard Left.
Anyway in coming weeks we will learn much more about the Walkers. Over and above the fate of John Walker himself, let's hope the whole episode becomes an excruciating embarrassment for the Left.

Thanks for the flag, Pokey. This is a great piece.

I'm sure the REST of the story will include things like...the dirt-bag walker STARTED the riot/pummeling death of Spann. That the bite marks DO match walker's dental records, PLUS had evidence of frothy slobber of the rabid animal.
I remember Bush saying that he will smoke out terrorists and those who support them. Too bad that doesn't apply to the ones who are in this country, and the parents who buy lawyers for their 'good boys'. Too bad Bush doesn't forbid traitors from stepping on American soil again.

I've been telling my liberal friends that the story of John Walker is the ultimate condemnation of the liberal "try everything" upbringing that his hippie parents subjected him to.

Death or life imprisonment for taliban Walker? Death or stripping his American citizenship from him ... and him never being able to set foot here again.
